The yet-to-be-named, multi-cam project centers on Jack (played by Up All Night‘s Will Arnett), a recently divorced guy whose life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own.

Bridges will play Tom, husband to Margo Martindale’s Carol and father of Jack and his sister, Debbie (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Mary Elizabeth Ellis). Additionally, JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) will play Jack’s pal Deweyne.

Garcia wrote the script for the comedy, which will be directed by Jim Burrows.

Bridges and Garcia have worked together before; the actor had a recurring role as the titular character’s pop on Garcia’s My Name Is Earl. Bridges’ long career in film and television include stints on Franklin & BashWhite CollarBrothers & Sisters and Showtime’s upcoming Masters of Sex.

  1. Eric says:

This cast would be so good in a single-cam series.

  2. Mark says:

    Fantastic cast.

  3. Zachary says:

I read the script. It’s not bad, but Arnett is miscast, and it really seems like it’s not a fit for CBS. Would do great on TV Land, or perhaps ABC, but I don’t see it happening. With Zachary Levi as the lead, I could see this being a hit. But Arnett is too acerbic to play this kind of role. I also don’t know if JB Smoove is actually going to be available, as he already has a show, and a pretty busy stand up career.

Also, most of the cast has almost no experience before a live audience. And Garcia’s other project is just so much better.
