On TV this Thursday: American Idol drops and gives you 20, Malcolm McDowell gives the Community some international flavor, Project Runway puts age before beauty and Archer gourmet have his cover blown. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.
8 pm American Idol (Fox) | The fourth and final group of semifinalists take the stage; after tonight, only the Top 20 will remain.
8 pm Zero Hour (ABC) | Laila, forced to repair the next clock for White Vincent, begins leaving a trail of clues for Hank to follow. Meanwhile, Hank’s parents seem to be hiding a secret, and a famous historical figure may hold the key to unlocking the next clock.
8 pm Community (NBC) | After getting shut out of “The History of Ice Cream,” the study group begins its European History class with Prof. Noel Cornwallis (played by Malcolm McDowell, Entourage) — which of course winds up with the gals dressed as Bavarian milkmaids and reintroduces Jeff and Shirley’s German foosball foes. Oh, and Chang’s back!
8:30 pm Parks and Recreation (NBC) | Repeat to Remember: Missing Ben and Leslie after last week’s wedding? Tonight’s Halloween-themed episode revisits their proposal, a scene so lovely it earned Amy Poehler special kudos from us.
9 pm Project Runway (Lifetime) | As the designers create age-appropriate looks for senior citizens, Joan and Melisa Rivers stop by to guest-judge.
9:30 pm 1600 Penn (NBC) | The Gilchrists take a family trip to their ranch so Skip and Becca can ruminate on their romantic relationships (or lack thereof) and Dale can decide on a Supreme Court nominee — in other words, normal family-vacation stuff.
10 pm Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars (ABC) | If you missed Sunday’s late-night Academy Awards debrief – including the world premiere of the star-packed Movie: The Movie 2V trailer — here’s a reprise.
10 pm Archer (FX) | Archer, Lana and Cyril go undercover in the hellish kitchen of celebrity chef Lance Casteau (voiced by The Taste‘s Anthony Bourdain). Psst, just renewed for Season 5!
10:30 pm Nathan for You (Comedy Central) | Series premiere: This “docu-reality comedy” finds Nathan Fielder (Jon Benjamin Has a Van) using his business degree and life experiences to help real-life small enterprises turn a profit. Hilarity (presumably) ensues.
10:30 pm Legit (FX) | After missing out on a role because of his weight, Jim turns to good friend Andy Dick (NewsRadio) for career advice, acting lessons and physical training. It… doesn’t go so well.
