glee ali stroker kevin mchaleMake sure there’s a little extra room on your DVR come March 7.

That’s the date Fox is planning to expand its primetime lineup by a half hour to celebrate the announcement of the American Idol Season 12 finalists and the 500th musical performance on Glee, which will be a cover of the classic R&B hit/wedding reception favorite “Shout.”

The night will kick off with the live results of America’s votes leading to the (hopefully awesome) roster for Idol‘s Season 12 finals (8:00-9:30 ET).

After that, a Glee episode entitled “Girls (and Boys) on Film” and featuring the milestone musical number from Animal House, will air from 9:30-10:30 ET. According to the network, the hour will revolve around the kids of New Directions performing songs from the movies, while in New York City, “Santana makes herself at home in the loft a little too quickly for Rachel and Kurt’s comfort.”

      • Lies! On the east coast (EST) the news doesn’t come on until 11pm, so 10:30 would be half an hour early. (Of course, CST and other timezones differ.)

        • FOXNY starts its news at 10 pm as well…not sure where you’re from Adam but FOX generally does their late night news at 10 pm so they can be first with the news…like Keith said its the other networks that air the news at 11pm.

      • oh right, i get it now. I saw tha picture, and it’s from the next episode. and they were talking about the after-hiatus episode, so I thought those two would air after the other. and i heard that there will be two episodes that will be aired on the same night this season.

  • Uh not to correct here but the episode isn’t Animal House themed. It’s music from movies in general. Animal House is just one of the movies.

    • That’s what the article says. Songs from the movies with that particular one being from Animal House.

  • Wow- hopefully Aylin doesn’t get screwed over if “The Glee Project” Season 2 continues to become, like Season 1, the “everybody wins” show.

    • Definitely hope we see Aylin.

  • Glee has destroyed itself completely and utterly destroyed itself. Fox has tried to garner buzz for the show but Ryan has destroyed the whole concept of the show and made a mockery of the whole thing. Rachel is a whore and not a very good one at that. Finn might as well not be on glee anymore. Santana is a joke of a character only there to appease a vocal online lesbian group that is so desperate to hijack the show they settle for this crappy cartoon character. St Gay of glee can do no wrong because it is based on the show runner himself and the show itself does not even bother to pretend acting matters just sing the damn songs and buy the itunes. They have another idol singer coming on soon that has zero acting ability but so what the show is just a fox reality show now. Fame reboot or smash lite is his goal count the world out on that one. You cannot call this show glee anymore call it cop rock lousy.

  • Wow ok I love how there are always glee lovers and glee haters who comment on obvious glee articles. The show has ups and downs. Music is always great and the actors who sing them always do an awesome job. The storylines are always getting crazier but its for entertainment purposes anyway. I for one want Blaine up in NY and less New Directions but then it wouldn’t be Glee so idk lol.
