Has anyone read the book? I’m about 2/3 through it and it hasn’t mentioned anything about Carolyn STURGES and Thurston having a daughter. Or maybe this is a whole new character? My point is that, while I haven’t finished the book yet, all of the casting news so far is very different from the characters in the book.

    • ollie says:

they are not sticking with the book regarding the characters at all esp with the casting. yet another horrible adaption of a king book ( though their are very few great adaptions from his work) im now offically not going to watch it and hope the dark towers dont ever get greenlit for show or movies bc they would just ripe it to shreds and wipe their but with it. and I dont have a problem with any of the actors they have chose so far just what they are changing from the book.

  2. Lisa says:

Agreed, Carrie. This makes me nervous for the quality of the show. I’m still stinging from how awful the cable adaptation of “Bag of Bones” was.

  3. dieselguy says:

OK this is ridiculous.Has anyone at CBS even read the book?? Because so far they have f*cked up every single casting decision. And they are adding new characters? Sure, why not, it´s not like the book has 200 important characters already.. And to think I was actually pretty excited, when I first heard about the TV show… Under the Dome is the best book King has written in decades, but this show is gonna be terrible..

  4. 2girlzz says:

What is CBS doing? And why is SK allowing it? The book was AMAZING.

  5. jenna says:

Yeah I’m not sure why they felt the need to change the characters. I supose there’s gonna be a lot less death…

  6. Kingfan says:

Best King book to movie was The Shawshank Redemption.
