ABC Orders John Leguizamo Comedy Pilot

John Leguizamo ABC Comedy PilotABC has ordered a half-hour comedy pilot co-created by and starring John Leguizamo.

The untitled project is based on the actor-comedian’s life as a husband, father and fish out of water on the Upper West Side of New York. Woven into this world are his privileged wife, his friends from his life back in the Bronx, his mother and grandfather who try to keep him grounded in his Latin roots, and his own kids who he worries are getting spoiled and losing touch with reality.

Leguizamo’s TV credits include arcs on ER and My Name Is Earl, as well as a starring role in Spike TV’s short-lived heist drama The Kill Point.

  • I wish him well and hope it’s a hit. John has paid his dues as a comedian and as an actor. I hope people give him a chance and come to appreciate him for the work he does.

  • He’s really handsome and engaging onstage and onscreen. I’ve seen many of his one-man shows and he is amazing. I’m sure the show will be great. I’ll definitely watch.
