The daytime gabber, fronted and executive-produced by the former Today host and CBS Evening News anchor, debuted in September and airs in most of the country.

Its premiere nabbed a 2.8 household rating, putting it on par with Dr. Phil‘s first episode for the best talk show debut in the last decade.

Couric most recently made news by landing an exclusive interview with duped Notre Dame football star Manti Te’o and his parents.

  • Who cares about “Katie”? Did ABC make anything official yet concerning “GH”? Some reports say that they want to hang on to the sudser for the time being but no official renewal news…

    • Katie is a syndicated show. It has nothing to do with ABC (except that it’s produced by their syndication arm. I watch it on NBC Seattle.)

this is no big news. The multi-million dollar deal was for a two-year commitment. She would have been paid even if the ratings tanked.

    • If you were looking for news about ‘General Hospital’ why would click on a post that clearly isn’t about that show? You soap opera people, I swear

  • Can’t understand their fascination with Katie since the Sarah Palin infamous interview. It’s like they owe her.

    • This is like hearing The Tonight Show is renewed and people asking whether Access Hollywood is renewed, too. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Honestly, people…

  • Katie gets great guest, but she isn’t a great host.
