The single-camera comedy pilot is penned and executive produced by Andrew Leeds (who plays Bones‘ big bad Pelant) and writing partner David Lampson (This One Time With Julia); The Office‘s Ellie Kemper is mulling playing the lead, TVLine has learned.

The potential series would consist of stories from Brenda Miller’s past and present, which would mesh together to give a unique portrait of how a chubby, awkward but incredibly confident 13-year-old grew up to be a 31-year-old woman who still does her own thing.

Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) also is attached to the project as an executive producer.

  • Sounds like an interesting concept; and, with Ellie attached, I would give this show a chance

  • I always find it interesting to see how many stories about women are written by men, who know nothing about what it’s like to be a 13 year old girl.
