What to Watch Friday: Last Man Standing's Home Improvement Reunion, Banshee Bows and More

RICHARD KARN, TIM ALLENOn TV this Friday: It’s Tool Time on Last Man Standing, Fringe starts the wind-down to next week’s finale, Blue Bloods mix with two tough broads and Banshee begins its run. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

8 pm Undercover Boss (CBS) | The CEO of Kampgrounds of America faces his fears and rides a zipline with his employees, who have no idea he’s masquerading as one of them.

8 pm Last Man Standing (ABC) | Home Improvement reunion! Richard Karn guest-stars as the original Outdoor Man’s architect, who now may be losing his job to a gorgeous young woman (Tool Time Girl Lisa? Heidi?).

8:30 pm Malibu Country (ABC) | Reba volunteers to host Kim’s baby shower, but then inadvertently disses the mama-to-be on camera – and tries to pin it on Kim’s pal, Brooke (played by Heather Dubrow, The Real Housewives of Orange County).

9 pm Fringe (Fox) | In the last episode before next week’s two-hour finale event, Walter enters the deprivation tank to uncover information about the mysterious Donald, while Captain Windmark sets out on a mission of his own. (Read preview.)

9 pm Shark Tank (ABC) | Two chemical engineers pitch a capsule that keeps a hot beverage at a perfect temperature. (Yes, but can they invent something that keeps me from burning my tongue on my tea every single time I make it?)

9 pm CSI: NY (CBS) | The CSIs investigate a beloved off-duty NYPD officer’s death, which occurred during a robbery. (Get scoop on the “Flavato” romance and last week’s tragic twist.)

10 pm Banshee (Cinemax) | Series premiere: True Blood‘s Alan Ball and House‘s Greg Yaitanes bring you this drama about an ex-con and master thief (played by New Zealand actor Antony Starr) who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Penn., and uses it as a cover while carrying out his nefarious activities. 10 pm Blue Bloods (CBS) | Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm) guest-stars as the judge presiding over Mayor Poole’s trial, while Annabella Sciorra (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) plays an NYPD psychologist who assesses Jamie’s emotional state resulting from his actions on the job.

10 pm 20/20 (ABC) | A man who staged his own faux drowning and a teen impersonating a physician’s assistant are among the stories in tonight’s feature on fakers.

10 pm Portlandia (IFC) | Nina throws herself an extravagant birthday party (horseback rides and sunrise yoga included). Patton Oswalt (Justified) guest-stars.

    I watched an ep of CSI: NY last week. I might check it out again, because while I liked it a lot, I don’t want to get too attached.
