SNL: Jennifer Lawrence to Host; Samuel L. Jackson Drops F-Bomb in Christmas Episode

Jennifer Lawrence to Host SNL“I volunteer as SNL host!”

Filmdom’s Katniss Everdeen aka Jennifer Lawrence will host the first Saturday Night Live of 2013, to air Jan. 19.

Lawrence’s gig was announced during this weekend’s SNL Christmas episode, which opened with the Manhattan Children’s Chorus singing “Silent Night” in remembrance of those who died in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting… and also found Samuel L. Jackson blurting (most of) the F-word during a cameo in a “What’s Up With That?” sketch. (Kenan Thompson lightly scolded the film star, saying, “C’mon…. That costs money!”)

Joining Lawrence, a Studio 8H first-timer, as musical guest will be the American folk rock band The Lumineers.

Given the unpredictability of who will/will not do well as SNL host, what’s your gut saying about JLaw?

  • Choir was nice until they laughed and said “live from…” Tasteless. Bad.

    • Seriously?! You just called a children’s choir tasteless?

It was a moving moment on A COMEDY SHOW. They cut to black for about 5 seconds before they said Live from New York.

    • LOL the CHILDREN were tasteless? Get over yourself. It’s a comedy show. Would you prefer they cry while saying “Live from New York it’s Saturday night!”? They were on a big TV show, let them have their moment. Just because a horrific tragedy occurred, doesn’t mean the world should cleanse itself of joy. Oversensitive people like you always looking for something to complain about are one of the biggest problems with society. The world has to walk on eggshells now.

    • I love how people who hate a show, still waste there time to comment on an article, if you hate the show let others enjoy instead of belittiling others who still enjoy the show.

      • And don’t you feel like its probably the same one person griping about SNL and its long gone “glory days” posting to every story on the internet? LOL I know I do.

  • She is so wierd in interviews, in a funny way, so I’m very excited. SLJ did that unpurpose and unprofessional, but I laughed anyway and Thompson made it even more funny.

  • Samuel L. dropped “bulls—” too, right before Kenan moved on to the tight-lipped girl from Portlandia.

  • Sam Jackson tweeted that he said “Fuh,” not the f-bomb. He cops to the BS, though — said Keenan Thompson was supposed to have cut him off but missed the mark.
