Exclusive: Newsroom's Kelen Coleman Joins Rebel Wilson's ABC Pilot Super Fun Night

kelencolemanKelen Coleman (Newsroom, Hart of Dixie) has joined the cast of ABC’s retooled Rebel Wilson-fronted comedy pilot Super Fun Night, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The project was originally developed as a multi-camera sitcom at CBS last spring. When the Eye network opted not to order it to series, ABC swooped in, dropped most of the cast (with the exception of Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect breakout Wilson, who also penned the script) and changed the format to single camera.

The potential series revolves around three nerdy female friends (Wilson, Lauren Ash and Lisa Lapira) as they embark on a quest to have super fun every Friday night.

Coleman will play Felicity, a successful professional who serves as a role model and inspiration to Wilson’s character. Anna Camp (The Mindy Project) played the role in the CBS version.

oooh that’s a toughie! between anna camp and kelen coleman? why not both? and bring back jenny slate! *sigh* got to admit i like the single camera comedy idea a bit better for what i’m going to imagine will be super cooky if it’s coming out of the brain of rebel wilson.

  3. Nick says:

Yes so happy they saved it!! Loved Rebel Wilson in Pitch Perfect!! Go Fat Amy!!

  4. Brock says:

I hope that ABC don’t %$^# it up and lose this! It would wedge perfectly with Happy Endings, Don’t Trust The B!tch and Suburgatory.
