Jamie Foxx to Host SNL in December

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx is set to host the Dec. 8 edition of Saturday Night Live, NBC announced during this week’s show.

Foxx, star of the upcoming Quentin Tarantino western Django Unchained, will be joined by musical guest Ne-Yo.

This will mark Foxx’s second time as SNL host; he previously handled the gig back in 2000.

Looking at some of these host selections, I can’t figure out who SNL’s target audience is. I am apparently not part of it.

    • Lex says:

could not agree more. looking at hosts from previous seasons i can’t understand who is picking these hosts.

      • TV Gord says:

You mean hosts such as Desi Arnaz, Milton Berle and Broderick Crawford, all of whom hosted in the early years? There have always been offbeat choices, but Jamie Foxx is not one of them. He is a sketch comedy vet and a very versatile performer. What more do you want?

  2. Penni says:

Eek, not a great combo there.

  3. ollie says:

please let him write some of his own material and in response to other posters he was on in living color so it does fit

  4. Tansy says:

Foxx is one more reason to not watch SNL.

  5. Winnie says:

I’m very much looking forward to Jamie Foxx hosting! I didn’t see his last SNL skit, but I enjoyed his past sketch comedy chops and think that he has the potential to still be one of those hosts who “goes for it” whether the material is decent or not. That is…if he’s not taking himself too seriously these days.

I bet he will be singing his opening monologue
