Fairly Legal Cancelled After Two-Season Run

USA Network has opted not to renew Fairly Legal for a third season.

“Sarah Shahi is undoubtedly a star and we’re thrilled she’ll be joining our sister network NBC on Chicago Fire,” the cabler said Thursday in a statement to our sister site Deadline, which first reported the news. “We are proud of Fairly Legal and thank the very talented cast and crew for two fantastic seasons.”

As mentioned above, Shahi recently booked a multi-ep arc on NBC’s freshman fireman drama, playing a love interest for Taylor Kinney’s Lt. Kelly Severide.

It was announced Wednesday that USA Network has also scrapped Common Law after just one season.

I like the Ben and Kate mad relationship thing. Why are all the good series coming to an end. Why did VD have to go that far. I’m a law student and this motivates me more. (maybe I will find my Ben).

I am sorry to see this taken off the air! I happened upon it at the library, and have enjoyed watching both seasons, and wish it would continue. I haven’t seen such a wonderfully cast show since, Cosby, Taxi, Everybody Loves Raymond, I could go on, but those sprung to mind, because they “all fit”, the banter, clean sexual tensions, the easy commradory of the cast, and how they all seem genuinely happy to be working together and the great writing…a winning combination. So why was it taken off the air so quickly? T.V. viewers in my age group, 35-65, love this type of show, but some of us, don’t have those particular channels in our package, so we miss out on the opportunities. I am wondering what day and time it was on originally? I feel it is a show that would make it in prime time TV for sure, if given the chance……instead of an off channel. I realize that the USA channel is well known, but it is another category in cable package, so most don’t I would love to hear if this show would return, or even just out on a dvd forum….so I could get it from the library!

What a disappointment. Fairly legal and common law were truly entertaining shows. Showbiz is going to the dogs.
