What to Watch Sunday: Jon Stewart and Too Many Stars, Copper's Out, Once Hooks Up and More

On TV this Sunday: Copper puts the cuffs on its freshman season, Once Upon a Time Hooks you up, The Mentalist has daddy issues and the Jon Stewart-led Night of Too Many Stars shows you the funny. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

7 pm National League Championship Series (Fox) | Rescheduled for Sunday primetime (thus ‘tooning out Fox’s Animation Domination lineup), Game 6 finds the Cardinals looking to wrap things up, albeit on the Giants’ turf.

8 pm Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs (Comedy Central) | The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart emcees this celebrity-stuffed fundraiser, which features The Colbert Report‘s Stephen Colbert, 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan, Saturday Night Live‘s Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis, Parks and Recreation‘s Amy Poehler, Jerry Seinfeld and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

8 pm Once Upon a Time (ABC) | Belle threatens to leave Mr. Gold if he doesn’t change his ways, Rumplestiltskin tries to save his wife from a band of pirates (check out sneak-peek photos) and the dwarves look for fairy dust in the Storybrooke mine. (Watch a pair of preview videos!)

9 pm Boardwalk Empire (HBO) | After being detained in Washington by Daughtery’s henchmen, Nucky approaches his onetime nemesis Esther Randolph and later entertains an intriguing proposition from Gaston Means.

9 pm Dexter (Showtime) | Things at Miami Metro go awry after a killer is captured. (Make sure to come back after the episode for a can’t-miss TVLine post-mortem.)

9:30 pm* The Good Wife (CBS) | Alicia and Diane can’t rest for a minute when an opposing lawyer keeps changing tactics, and Eli strikes a blow in defense of Peter’s image.  (*Tonight’s CBS start times are adjusted because of a football double-header earlier in the day.)

10 pm Copper (BBC America) | Season finale: Corcoran’s life – and New York City’s fate – are in danger when he joins forces with Morehouse, Eva and the rest of the Sixth Precinct for the biggest fight since the Draft Riots. (Spoiler alert: I stroll through Times Square on my way to work every morning and encounter nothing more threatening than an aggressive Elmo; New York survives the fight just fine. As for this series? Yep, it’s just been renewed!)

10 pm Homeland (Showtime) | Estes authorizes a covert operation to investigate intel found in Beirut; enter Rupert Friend (Pride & Prejudice) as a crafty CIA analyst. And yes, another week, another twist that is bananas.

10 pm 666 Park Avenue (ABC) | Henry is troubled when he learns Gavin is under investigation; the ghostly little girl gives a warning. P.S. Did you hear the kinda-good-ish news?

10:30 pm The Mentalist (CBS) | William Forsythe (The Mob Doctor) returns as Rigsby’s “badass, gangster, biker dad” (according to executive producer Bruno Heller) who’s found injured at a crime scene – making the team wonder if the incident is the result of a long-standing gang war.

      • Yeah. They should ruin a sucessful show’s chances for The Good Wife’s sake.

  • Does anyone know if Snow and Emma will be on tonight’s Once? Or is it just gonna focus on Storybrooke? I know they won’t appear on next week’s episode so I was wondering if they’ll be on this one. The episodes are always better with them!

  • These lists are what to watch. Or what you are going to watch on Sunday as it airs. It seems like everyone is trying to show off the size of their “DVRs”. We get it. You are going to record every show that is on tonight. You are so cool. You are into everything and nothing gets by you. It looks like people are just typing everything cool that airs from 8-12 or re-typing the whole article above. No one is going to reply or care for your comment if every show that airs on Sunday is in your post.
By the way, here is my non-ADD schedule JO: The Amazing Race until the Walking Dead, Homeland, Dexter

  • Actually because TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is airing an amazing spectacle of rare animated film, everything has to be shifted. So, Revenge & 666 Park will wait for On Demand viewing, and Homeland and Dexter, either on line or on demand or early Tuesday morning.

    • That doesn’t start until after OUAT. The Gulliver” that’s on opposite OUAT isn’t a patch on the version with Ted Danson. So, ho hum.
