Twilight on TV? Is There Room on the Small Screen for More Vampires and Wolves?

TwilightIs Twilight coming to the small screen?

A new take on the popular vampire and werewolf movie series is in development, and one idea circulating is a TV show, reports

With the final film in the Twilight saga set to be released Nov. 16, many people are interested in keeping the high-grossing Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment franchise — based on the books by Stephenie Meyer — alive. Potential avenues include a “TV show or film spin-off, merely set in the same world as the one in the movies but not featuring the main trio,” according to the site’s sources.

With Bella, Edward and Jacob out of the picture, on whom would such a project focus? “One area of interest” is the Wolf Pack.

But is there room on the tube, which already features the beasts of True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf and occasionally Supernatural, for even more wolves and vampires? Is there another set of characters from the Twilight books and films that should be explored instead? And which network can you see hosting such a series? Sound off in the comments!

  • Thanks, but, no thanks. Awful idea. Whoever decided that might be a good idea needs to be slapped…and then forced to watch Twilight, which is torture in and of itself.

  • If they can make it well and stray from the books more, I say yes. But I don’t want a TV show that’s basically the movies, stretched out, with new actors.. Make it darker. Change some story lines. Like having Bella have complications from James’ bite to her wrist at the end of book 1.

Even if you don’t like the books, or the movies, you can’t assume that TV writers would make it awful. And if it is awful, don’t watch it and it will be cancelled.

  • Vamps and wolves have never been vanilla to me so I guess if its another network show like the bulk of them My answer would be no, but on the other hand if it was not to far from the world of True blood, and ran in opposite seasons, sure why not give it a try

    • Stephanie Meyers is a Mormon BYU grad. No way in hell she would let the trashy, melodramatic, piece of crap world she created become the porn that is True Blood.

  • I would watch a spinoff if it where on a channell that allows for unedited content. Maybe deal with Edwards family with Edward and Bella involved. Maybe the FX channel?

  • I think that if there will be a tv series made that it should be centered around Renesmee and feature Bella, Edward, and Jacob as supporting characters

  • Definitely NOT! This is the most horrific idea ever. The books were good, the films were good, please don’t ruin the ending of a franchise, by trying to suck some more money out of it, by some kind of a stupid spin-of. which I’m sure of will be just bad. especially without the main cast. There was chemistry that can not be portrayed by someone else. So please don’t…

  • If any concept on a vampire movie should be taken further – Underworld! But no more Twilight. I enjoyed the books and movies, but I think something even more disguisting and gory that True blood should be thought up. An R18 tv series on vamps, wolves, hell you can even mix fairies in for all I care!

  • i think u need to keep the same actors and actresse and remain with the story line, CONTINUE THE STORY i wanna know what happens after the volturi “fight” or focus on renesmmee and jacobs relationship but dont take the cullen family including bella out of the picture if u do im out.

  • and i agree with kendra. DO NOT take edward, bella or any of them out of it. It just wouldnt be the same. different acctresses/actors would be acceptable in my opinion but definatly keep the characters!! keep the story going by focusing on jacob and bellas daughter or something!

  • I love Twilight. For some random reason my favorite character is Renesmee so I would watch it if it had lots of Renesmee and sealed with her like growing up with her family and the wolf pack. That way everyone can be included
