Having 30 Rock‘s Fey and Parks and Rec‘s Poehler “on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” said NBC’s president of alternative programming, Paul Telegdy. “Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama.”

Added Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Aida Takla-O’Reilly: “The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action. The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”

    • I find Ricky Gervais arrogant and annoying as hell, but this is the BEST IDEA EVER!! Tina & Amy + drunk celebs = an awards show actually worth watching. Maybe they’ll even get Jimmy Fallon (who was great when he hosted the Emmys) to star with them for the opening musical number. Well done, HFPA and NBC!

  • This is great news. Amy Poehler has been the funniest thing at the Emmy’s two years running, and putting her together with Tina Fey only makes it that much better. I have to say, the Globes knows how to get great hosts

  • Why do people slobber over these two? Their shows are in the tank, and beyond short skits, they really aren’t that funny. NBC must be short on star power to pick these two.

    • #hatersgonnahate

Comment by David – October 16, 2012 07:22 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I only watched the Globes for Ricky Gervais. What an incredible letdown.

Comment by Eve – October 15, 2012 10:41 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Anyone who thinks these two will be funnier than Ricky Gervais is flat out crazy. I’m dumbfounded that people are excited about this.

Comment by Joey – October 16, 2012 12:31 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • They will and have been funnier than Gervais on several occasions in award shows. Last year’s best actress skit at the Emmys was orchestrated by Amy Poehler, as was this year’s speech mix up. And Tina Fey’s acceptance speeches have always been the highlight of most award shows.

Comment by Matthew Thomas – October 16, 2012 10:34 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • They totally disprove the “chicks can’t be funny” malarkey. Any way they can get Maya Rudolph and make it a trifecta?

Who are the winners ??? Tina and Amy

Comment by Jennifer – October 16, 2012 04:52 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Happy about the new hosts & hoping they pop some pretentious self congatulory fevered egos in the room as well & as funny as Gervais did

Comment by Charlie T – October 16, 2012 06:22 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Gotta be kidding me. Two of the most annoying, humorless females donning hosting duties for an awards show. I feel like slapping that stupid Tina Fey.

Comment by Ryan – October 16, 2012 06:42 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Tina will then slap you with one of her Emmys.
