Scandal Sneak Peeks: Someone's Got Olivia's Number! Plus: Is Fitz About to Explode?

Get More: Previews, Video

This week on ABC’s Scandal, Olivia finds a frightening surprise in the back seat of her car — and what the mystery man (played by guest star Patrick Fischler) has to say manages to stop the mightiest of gladiators dead in her tracks.

“I play a whistleblower, and it was a blast,” Fischler told TVLine of his Scandalous gig. “I work a lot, and on a lot of different shows, and this is one of the best groups I’ve ever worked with.” Watch a video sneak peek here, then read on for more:

Elsewhere — and seemingly related to the declaration made by Fischler’s government whistleblower — Fitz is agitated by Olivia yet laboring to present a happy facade, Cyrus notes. As such, POTUS is a “bomb stuffed into a teddy bear,” just tick-tick-ticking until he explodes:

President Grant, however, may find a way to defuse, if the promos that glimpse him clinching with Olivia are any indication. Per ABC, “Things manage to heat up between Fitz and Olivia when Olivia’s old flame (played by Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis) returns.”

  • I’m going to say something here and I will preface it by saying I am a huge fan of both GA and PPP. With that said, Shonda Rhimes should just stick with Scandal. It’s been a long time since she’s been this spot on with a cast like this since GA original cast. This show gets better and better every episode. It’s a definite “can’t wait to see next week” show – along with OUAT, Revenge, Fringe, Last Resort (best new show this season so far imo) and Castle.

    • I agree. I stopped watching GA and PP years ago, and I thought that I’d given up on Shonda Rhimes shows, but Scandal is really good!! Ms Rhimes found a way to draw me back in.

    • I’ll agree on the “must watch” aspect of the show although I still love GA. I am still watching PP just b/c I’ve invested this much time so I want to see how it ends and I don’t see it going on after Kate Walsh leaves. But Scandal is one of my favorites along with Revenge, TVD, OUAT, and Nashville that I won’t miss!

    • I just gave up on GA last season and watched the first episode of PP and used it as a series wrap (yeay Addy got a baby and chose Jake), but I have to agree Scandal is spot on and getting better every episode and Slade, I agree 100% on all those shows too.

    • And I totally disagree. I find Scandal unwatchable because the arrogant untalented imbecilic moronic can’t act all one note needs to go to porn its all she’s good forvKerry Washington is in almost every scene.

  • I applaud Olivia for not answering his calls anymore. The President needs to let her go.

  • I love this show! I know I shouldn’t root for a married man and his mistress to end up together, but I can’t help it. And Cyrus is great, sometimes dispicable, sometimes galant, but great all of the time.

    • I feel the same way… how can I root for adultery but… a testament to this show’s writers and cast!

  • Cyrus is such a great character, whether he’s being the hero of the hour or the villain behind the scenes. And he knows how to strike just where it hurts. And Shonda has a terrific cast to work with. I think Kerry Washington gets all the plaudits and she does an amazing job but Tony Goldwyn as Fitz just nails it everytime. He’s absolutely terrific in this role. And it’s thanks to his chemistry with Kerry that we can even root for Olivia and Fitz. Truth is, their relationship is so wonderfully complex and nuanced and is really the heart of this show. More please Shonda!

    • For me, Tony Goldwyn IS the show. And if not for the masterful way he’s played his character, I don’t think Scandal would be as popular as it is. It might have been entertaining–but no ways near this addictive. Shonda, keep Olitz alive and well and in our eyes often. We need it.

  • I have loved Kerry since she was Chenille in Save the Last Dance but I never thought I’d like Tony Golwyn again after Ghost (sorry I just hated him all these but he is FABULOUS as Fitz and his chemistry with Kerry is off the charts hot! I love Cyrus and David too. The whole cast is awesome and the characters are so layered. I hope the whole Quinn Perkins thing pays off cause that’s the worst part of the show right now.

    • It is a an extremely interesting show because of its use of language and situations that activate critical thinking. There is no black or white issue to handle. The shades of beige gives one an opportunity to look at all sides and judge fairly. I love this show and hope that Olivia and Fitz continue their naughty and complicated romance; it makes the show worth watching. It is the most intelligently written and sexiest show ever.

  • Scandal is on life support. It’s still a Shonda Rhimes show and the woman writes for teenagers and 20 somethings. She cannot write a storyline for a strong male to save her life. Spin it whichever way you want.
