What to Watch Sunday: Walking Dead Returns, The Good Wife Faces a Scandal and More

On TV this Sunday: Say ZOMG (in this case, “Zombies – Oh My God!)  for The Walking Dead‘s Season 3 premiere, a Soprano doles out justice on The Good Wife, Dexter states his case and the National League Championship Series gets underway. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar tonight.

8 pm National League Championship Series, Game 1 (Fox) | Tonight’s game between the Cardinals and Giants kicks off a best-of-seven series, the ultimate winner of which will represent the Senior Circuit in the World Series.

9 pm The Walking Dead (AMC) | Season 3 premiere: Rick finds a potentially safe haven for the survivors, but as these photos indicate, it might not be the Shangri-La it first appears. Also, Lori’s pregnancy is a constant reminder that change is coming. (See what the cast told TVLine about the new season and watch a video sneak preview of what’s ahead!)

9 pm Revenge (ABC) | Emily’s got her hands full with getting back into the Graysons’ lives and messing with keeping tabs on mom-to-be Amanda. So what’s she going to do about Aiden sticking around? (Check out photos featuring our own Meg Masters.)

9 pm The Good Wife (CBS) | Too bad Eli can’t call Olivia Pope, because she could surely help handle a scandal threatening Peter’s campaign. Dominic Chianese (The Sopranos) guest-stars as the entertaining Judge Marx, while Rita Wilson and Jill Flint return as Viola Walsh and Lana Delaney. (Get scoop!)

9 pm Dexter (Showtime) | Dex wants Deb to be OK with his new target, Isaak and the Ukranian mob seek revenge and LaGuerta tries to get Batista to buy her theory that the Bay Harbor Butcher is still at large.

PREVIEW | Exclusive 666 Park Avenue First Look: Jane Has Her Creepiest Encounter Yet!

10 pm Homeland (Showtime) | After Beirut, Carrie preps for what she hopes will be her triumphant return to the CIA. Meanwhile, Brody is recruited for an impromptu mission the same day he is to speak at Jessica’s high-profile fundraiser. (Warning: The first couple of minutes may make you tear your hair out.)

10 pm The Mentalist (CBS) | Lisbon gets sucked even deeper into the CBI/FBI rivalry; Jane works to track down a bank employee’s murderer.

10 pm Treme (HBO) | Antoine does a good deed, Davis can’t sign “Sugar Boy” Crawford for his opera and L.P. gets some intel on his headless skeleton’s past.

  • Sunday is the best night for tv now: The Good Wife, Revenge, The Walking Dead, (back from the dead) Dexter, Homeland. All in my opinion the best series in their respective categories (I know they are all dramas but soap, guilty pleasure, action, etc.)

And this week marks the beginning of AHS: Asylum. My tv week couldn’t be better!

    • they are featuring different things this week, just like they do every week. they cant just put the same shows up every week, they would be accused of bias

Comment by Alan – October 14, 2012 07:27 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • They highlight few different shows each week. But there are separate article links for both of Once and 666 in blue. When they have an entire article for a show, they link it instead of listing it.

  • Boardwalk Empire and Homeland. I don’t regularly watch The Good Wife but your mention of the Soprano guest star caught my eye. I see it’s “Uncle Junior.” I might have to actually watch this episode later On Demand.
