CSI: NYMade in Jersey? Fuhgeddaboudit.

Having dismissed the freshman legal drama from its slate, CBS this Friday averaged 10 percent more viewers and a 30 recent better demo rating.

An NCIS repeat led things off with 7.6 million total viewers and a 1.2 rating, easily winning its time slot in total audience. Returning to the 9 o’clock perch, CSI: NY rose 12 and 17 percent to 9.4 mil/1.4, outdrawing all rivals in total viewers. Blue Bloods closed the night with 10.5 mil/1.4, rising 7 and 17 percent with a stronger lead-in.

All told, Blue Bloods was Friday’s most watched program, while ABC’s Shark Tank (steady at 6.4 mil/1.8) drew the best demo rating.

Elsewhere:

* The CW’s encore airings of Arrow and Beauty and the Beast added 2 million and 1.4 million to their respective premiere week audiences.

* Facing slightly stronger competition, Fringe (2.7 mil/1.0) shed a handful of viewers but was steady in the demo, while Grimm (5 mil/1.5) slipped 6 percent.

  • Fringe was fantastic! So happy we don’t have to worry about the ratings anymore.
Arrow has great potential. Seems like CW is expanding its demo group which is awesome.

    • I hope this makes the CW realize they have to produce more quality shows instead of crappy soap operas like Gossip Girl & 90210.

      Arrow is awesome.

  • Love that Grimm gets a better demo than the CBS procedural, even if it’s only marginal. Hopefully, the show will continue to grow.

  • I will never understand the TV ratings. I watch both Fringe and Grimm and think Fringe is light years ahead of Grimm, but I guess you’ll never see it in the ratings.

  • Wow, that sure didn’t take CBS long to remedy the Friday night lineup problem. Goodbye MIJersey, rerun of NCIS to lead off night, problem solved. I wonder now if CBS really needs to bother installing a reality show at 8pm/Friday – just run NCIS and NCIS-LA re-runs at 8pm every other week as ‘encore Friday 8pm event’.

  • I actually watch 90210 but it’s obvious the “Teen Soap” genre is dying. The CW needs more series like Arrow and Beauty & the Beast.
