Get More: Exclusive, First Look, Video

Law & Order: SVU will put a dark twist on a 50 Shades of Grey-esque phenomenon this Wednesday (NBC, 9/8c), and we have your exclusive first look at the scandalous installment.

Titled “Twenty-Five Acts,” the sexified episode centers on the author of a famous erotic novel series (played by Veep‘s Anna Chlumsky) who, after a promotional appearance on a talk show, accuses the host (Revenge actor Roger Bart) of rape.

    • Thanks. I knew he was from Desperate Housewives but couldn’t remember for the life of me who he played. Oddly enough, I also watch Revenge, but can’t remember him being on that show at all.

      • Most would disagree with you. It’s on its last legs. Rumor in the business is it will complete 13 episodes before Christmas and that will be it. I hope Meloni returns for the last hurrah.

        • TMW, rumour hav’nt you been told not to believe rumours, mariska hargitay is the highest paid actress on tv $392,000 per episode they must be making money to pay that sort of salary and think of the original series law and order ran for 20 seasons and svu surpasses it on so many levels i think svu will make it to 20 seasons easy also it is the smartest and most intelligent cop tv show ever to come out of usa, csi, criminal minds, body of proof, ncis none of them even come close to svu and this crap about svu coming to its demise is crap mariska hargitay has signed a contract as the new face of the law and order brand why6 would they do that if they were going to cancel by xmas, so far what i have seen on season 14 has been great they have been doing things they have never done before and they are doing more character development with cragen and they have completely renovated the station you people that are talking like it is about to end are going to be surprised fortunately, it would be very foolish of nbc to cancel it,no other show shocks and surprises like this one it is genius storytelling with so much material to scope from the possibilities are endless so i think as most other svu fans that we will be watching svu for many years yet, and you people that are calling olivia a slut, that is so far from the truth its not funny any fan who has seen the whole series will tell you that you can count all the boyfriends she has had on one hand a farcry from a slut, the people creating rumour need to do their research for thouroughly and get their facts straight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • The ratings and loss in viewership sure doesn’t say it’s getting any better

  • Hasn’t he already done an episode of SVU? I know he did the Law and Order episode (classic), but I’m fairly sure…

    • He played the boyfriend of a rape victim in one of my favorite SVU episodes from season one called Closure. Michael J Fox’s wife played the rape victim who is unable to ID her attacker

    • Quite a few folks have appeared on SVU/Law & Order as different characters, usually there are a few seasons in between. I think Stephanie March was on as a guest character before joining the cast.

    • For the most part weekly, unless they are on breaks. Last week it didn’t air ’cause of the debates.

  • The two hour season premiere they did a couple of weeks ago was terrific. One of the best episodes in a long time, I thought.

  • as opposed to all the non-sexified episodes of SVU?

  • SVU is dying for several reasons. (A) They got rid of Casey and Alex. (B) They have turned Olivia into a desperate slut. (C) The new detectives they brought on are awful. (D) The storylines are overworked. (E) The storylines are far fetched. Who the hell had the stupid idea of bringing back Olivia’s one night stand as her love thirteen years later. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!

Comment by Samantha – October 8, 2012 10:59 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • A) Both actresses have been busy with other projects. B) That’s just your wounded shipper psychosis talking. C) There’s interpretation and there’s being delusional. (also, see letter B). D) ….WHAT? As opposed to the completely underworked storylines of seasons 9-12? E) (SEE LETTER B) Also, the writers worked Cassidy’s character perfectly into the story. Plus, if you think about it, his presence makes perfect sense. Elliot’s gone and she craves familiarity. PS. That does not make her a slut.

      • OK, Warren Leight, whatever you say… You’re the one who’s delusional. Both actresses have said they’d drop everything if SVU called. And Liv couldn’t get away from Cassidy fast enough the first time, so craving his familiarity is BS. Samantha is interpretating the death of SVU as perfectly as WL is running it into the ground.
