Bob’s Burgers Premiere Preview: Someone Steals Louise's Bunny Ears!

As Bob’s Burgers’ Louise learns the hard way in next Sunday’s season premiere, her cherished pink bunny hat is ears one day, gone the next.

“It’s a big, big deal. We almost didn’t want to do it,” creator/executive producer Loren Bouchard tells TVLine about the Season 3 opener, which airs Sept. 30 at 8:30/7:30c on Fox. “We don’t even show her bare head – out of respect.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the animated comedy, here’s all you need to know for the premiere: Louise, the youngest Belcher sibling (voiced by 30 Rock’s Kristen Schaal), is never without her favorite piece of haberdashery. So when it’s taken from her, the result is “a very eventful episode,” Bouchard says ominously.

The series kicks off its guest-star laden third season with Reno 911!’s Wendy McLendon-Covey and Robert Ben Garant lending their voices to the episode. In addition, Schaal’s comedy partner Kurt Braunohler (host of IFC’s Bunk) voices a teen bully. “You’ll see his character again,” Bouchard promises.

He adds that you’ll probably be entertained by Louise’s efforts to retrieve the accessory, but don’t expect to be enlightened. “We still don’t explain why she’s so connected to this thing and why she feels compelled to have it on her head at all times, including – seemingly – while she sleeps and swims,” he adds. “But we do show a little bit of just how scary things can get when it gets taken from her.”

How on earth did this “show” get a 2nd season?
This is easily the worst animated show in the history of the FOX Network (& yes, Allan Gregory was miles better.)

    • Tricia says:

I disagree, in my opinion this show is 100 times better than any of the MacFarlane shows it shares Sunday night with.

After the lengths Louise went to when she lost her bedroom for a weekend, I can’t wait to see how she handles this.

      • JBS says:

Wrong. Both American Dad & Family Guy have been consistently better than Bob’s Burgers for a much longer time period. And The Simpsons, the original (& still hilarious) animated hit, is still funny on a more consistent basis as well.

    • samaxe794 says:

If you think Allen Gregory was better then I can’t take your opinion seriously. This show is hilarious.

    • murley says:

it got a 3rd season because it is the only truly original and consistently hilarious animated show in the fox Sunday night lineup. plus every voice actor in the cast is phenomenal.

      • JBS says:

NO!! JUST NO!! Every single animated show that FOX has ever produced is/has been better. Plus, the animation sucks; it looks as if a toddler did it. Furthermore, the cast sucks; the wife & oldest daughter sound like guys. That should never happen. I’m sorry, but again, NO!!

      • UncleWalt says:

The truth is, “Bob’s” got another season because it’s a cheap show to make compared to the Simpsons and the MacFarlane shows. It’s budget is about a 1/3 of the other shows. Same goes for it’s quality. But quality and Fox were never really synonymous.

  3. Dick Whitman says:

My favorite animated show. Can’t wait to see Louise lose her sh– ears.

  4. Someone has a bone to pick! Bob’s Burgers is a cleaver, funny animated series. Unlike all the others it deserves to be going the the third season.

  5. EL says:

There are tons and tons of television shows to choose from…something for everyone. I don’t see the point of the arguments on here. If you like it, watch it. If you don’t, then don’t. With that said, I like all of the Fox animated shows. Sunday night is always fun for me. Sometimes though those damn bunny ears drive me crazy. That’s Louise though. She’s not out to please. Looking forward to season 3. :)
