Saturday Night Live can halt its search for new Mitt Romney and Joe Biden impersonators.
After months of will-he or won’t-he speculation, Jason Sudeikis is officially on board for SNL‘s 38th season, which launches this weekend with host Seth MacFarlane.
The news, first reported by EW.com, no doubt comes as a huge relief to SNL boss Lorne Michaels, who was already facing the loss of Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott. It also ensures that NBC’s late-night institution will retain one of its key political players during election season.
As TVLine reported on Monday, SNL is replenishing its ranks with the addition of Second City alums Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong.
