  • As Tristan Wilds has been popped on set I think we can assume Dixon pulls through. Nice to see Lori back though.

  • Well, I guess they can say they’ve had their token black character for a couple seasons, but now with how cumbersome and played out his storyline’s become, they can get rid. A paid their dues kind of thing. Or, that’ll be the very thing that they save him for, but then why the death scare in the first place, with Dixon of all people? Hmm. Meh.
I just hope Teddy’s given regular status and meaty material again. And Naomi/Max 4ever.

    • So Dixon is only there because he’s black and after five years, the quota no longer applies? Yeesh, man. I think they should get rid of Dixon too but he’s still there because he and Annie are supposed to be the new Brandon and Brenda. Not because of race.

That being said, he’s a poor Brandon and I agree with you 100% about his storylines. They suck like the dickens.

      • he’s here because he’s one of their top 4 actors on the show. Has a big fanbase and literally has created story angles for every character on the show that he’s been involved with. Your welcome by the way. It’s not his fault the writers are only interested in writing stories for Annie and Naomi and guest stars.

        • I guess my main point is… i don’t like where they’ve taken Dixons character. He now feels unnecessary. But he’s NOT still on the show because he’s black… he’s still there because he’s technically the main character. But you’re right… its also because of his huge fan base (believe it or not, I’m one of those people who followed him from The Wire).

      • That makes no sense, since Brenda left in season 4 and never came back. :)

    • Some of you are reading too much into it..I agree with Ian, he is there because he’s black. Not to say that Tristan isn’t a great actor, because he was awesome in The Wire and movies. BUT…….the way that he was introduced to the show wasn’t thought out right, if he was really suppose to be on the show, he should of had his OWN family and not be adopted into another! What are they trying to say, the only black people in 90210 are adopted? You can somewhat also lump Navid in there as well. So the only way middle eastern people can be in 90210 is if they run a porn industry? Why couldn’t they have a clean business? Get where this could get all out of control? Plus Dixon’s storylines have been quite stupid as of late! The orginal 90210 was hated because they never had any african-americans on the show, so in order to get it right and stay in the status quo, they needed one and Tristan was it. At least with Teddy, making his character homosexual was more interesting if they had continued it longer.

      • teddy’s storyline was interesting, his performance was horrid. This is how good an actor Tristan is he was lumped into a middle american family story, he’s not the stereotypical black kid. His story goes as follows, at 8 his mother had bi-polar disease, he went 8+ yrs. thinking he was the one who decided to leave his mother. Social Services took him away, his grandmother was a part time carer, died, father was an alchy, the Wilsons more importantly Harry saw him at adoption agency, adopted him, his sister was the first one that took to him because she bugged him all the time. This stuff happens. The Wilson family actually was a struggling middle america family with an at the time rich grandmother safety net. When she lost her money via debts the Wilsons refreshed sold the house. There’s nothing unbelieveable there. Those are real situations. Dixon is not only the first fulltime minority on 90210 he’s the main one in a primetime slot, 23 yrs. old and has a big fanbase, marketability, random posts on blogs like this or imdbs is not a reflection on what his character does for 90210. I hope they use him more because when Tristan does storylines people relate and talk about it. He does something that most don’t, he makes you feel what his character does. The Navid character I have no words for. I don’t get him, I’m not going to try to either. Annie either, she’s a character that has been used in way too many ridiculous stories and I’d have no problem if she could perform, but she falls short. I’m afraid she’s a character who’s only use is Liam and Annie.

        • Also, I been addicted to that show since I was 13.. Lol… 20 years later I found on Netflix the new version of 90210 and must say I like it better! Better fashion:) lol… But…. I CAN NOT stand Annie at all!!! Her face, character and her voice just gives me chills! Please get her out of the movie!!! The what she stands and talks with her hands the whole “sweet girl” demeanor is confusing with her crazy life and sex story… What was that with the priest??? Naomi grew on me, way to crazy but I love her confidence and consistency!!! She has been the same from the episode one… And omg Austin!!! He is just to hot for all of them!!!! I am in love! My kind of guy!!! And Adriana??? Why is she around? Oh to start drama I guess….

      • I don’t think Tristan’s there just cause black, but I’m glad the show has a little diversity in the cast.I also don’t think he was written as adopted cause he’s black so he can’t have his own family, I just think the show runners went with the brother/sister theme with a modern twist-a lot of families nowdays have adopted or foster kids.I think it helped put adoption in the spotlight & in a positive way-Dixon was adopted and adopted by people that treated him well-unlike other shows where kids go to foster families that abuse or molest them(Life Unexpected, )

        • I also think they wrote Dixon as adopted to be different from the original bh90210&. To be unique period, with the exception of 90210 & Dexter I don’t know of any other shows with adopted siblings.

Comment by Brandy – September 6, 2012 09:38 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
          • Actually, Sutton(who was adopted)& Laurel on Lying Game and if I remember right Steve on the original bh90210 was adopted(adoptive brothers Ryan & Austin). But there’s very very few like this on tv that I know of.

Comment by Brandy – September 6, 2012 09:57 AM PDT
          • Exactly. Dixon isn’t Brandon Walsh well mannered guy. He’s like, he’s a bit like Pacey from Dawson’s Creek mixed w/ David from 90210. People that mess up alot even when they didn’t want to. But for Dixon it makes sense because who’s taught him values? the Wilsons were a family that did but once highschool started he’s gotten himself into self inflicted drama because he started looking out for himself. So I see bringing Lori back as something I’m going to pay close attention to how it affects his character more than anyone else.

  • Couldn’t care less about 90210. Last season was such a mess. The new writers made Navid and Silver even more annoying than usual, Annie was lost as well and Liam became a movie actor? I wouldn’t care if The CW cancels the show.

  • Is she just back for 1 episode or will she be around for a few?

, missed Debbie, they messed her around storyline wise in the final season, cutting her exit from the final scripte and cutting her scenes from other episodes too, hope she will be around a while.

  • I’d be all teary-eyed too, except for the fact that true, close bonds were never formed between those kids and their parents. I will always feel that was what was sorely missing with the new zip. What Jim and Cindy had with their kids never had to be exactly cloned; but it did IMO have to be represented and sadly it never was.

I’m teary-eyed right now all right, I’m teary-eyed because I see Wilson family members still on this show.

    • Yeah, what she said! I loved the original 90210…Not only did we have Jim and Cindy, we had Mel and Jackie, John and Felice Martin, Jack McKay, Rush and Samantha Sanders. I feel this version failed to use the parents more consistently. I mean, I don’t need them to be the focus as the show is about teenagers, but these kids don’t exist in a vacuum.

  • I think the show would return to some of its former glory if they got Liam and Naomi back together. Everything since has been shambles, it’s unbearably bad.

  • I watch for Teddy i will admit that. Its a great story line and Trevor Donovan makes it interesting and is very sexy to watch. I’m in if he’s on it.
