Matt Jones

The Farm is getting full.

Matt Jones (Breaking Bad) has been cast on The Office‘s potential spin-off as Dwight’s mysterious cousin Zeke, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The character — along with the previously cast Thomas Middleditch (The Campaign), Majandra Delfino (Roswell) and Blake Garrett (Bridesmaids), who will play Dwight’s brother, sister and nephew, respectively — will be introduced in an episode of the departing NBC comedy this fall. Should the network move forward with the Schrute-centric spinoff, all four would be series regulars.

The project, from former Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein, centers on Rainn Wilson’s Dwight and his kin inheriting a large family farm/bed-and-breakfast. When the quirky beet farmer decides to leave the paper biz and give the new venture a shot, he must convince his brother and sister to join him.

In addition to playing a meth pal of Breaking Bad‘s Jesse, Jones’ TV credits include CSI: NYNCIS and Community.

The Office returns for its final season Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9/8c.

  • I was hoping he would be starting to appear on NCIS on a more regular basis, oh well…

  • My idea for a spin off would be Oscar, Kevin, and Angela open their own accounting firm. Perhaps Phyllis could be their secretary.

  • Badger! Perhaps Skinny Pete can do a guest appearance as Badger’s Beethoven-playing crackhead friend.

  • The show will bomb. It doesn’t have a chance without his cousin Moes.
