The pair, with TV credits including NBC’s Smash and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, also has produced films like Chicago, Footloose and Hairspray and the Broadway revivals of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Promises, Promises.
“We hope to utilize our experience in producing features, TV and theater to bring something fresh and special to this incredible awards show,” the men said in a statement. “When we filmed The Bucket List, we made our own personal bucket list, and producing the Oscars was No. 1. It’s truly a great honor.”
Let’s just hope Tom and Julia have the musical number written before the night of the ceremony…
