NBC Fall TV Scoop: Alias' Michael Vartan Plans to Go On With Matthew Perry

Michael Vartan Go OnIf your wildest TV dreams have ever involved Michael Vaughn and Chandler Bing palling around, you’re in luck: Michael Vartan has booked a guest spot on Matthew Perry’s new series, Go On.

From executive producer Scott Silveri (Friends, Perfect Couples), the NBC comedy stars the former Friend as a sports-talk radio host who, while coping with a major loss, (eventually) finds solace in his mandatory group-therapy sessions.

The Alias alum has been tapped to play a hockey player who hits the rink with Perry’s leading man, TVLine has confirmed. Real-life NHL star Jeremy Roenick will also be on hand for the installment.

Vartan once guest-starred a late-’90s episode of Friends — though not opposite Perry — and most recently starred in TNT’s HawthoRNe, which wrapped its three-season run last year.

After a handful of preview showings, Go On officially launches Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 9/8c.

  1. PDT says:

Chandler Bing did pal around with him, since he played Richard’s son who Monica tried to date in an episode of “Friends.”

But Chandler spent most of that time in a box, so maybe that doesn’t count.

  2. allaboutlocke@gmail.com says:

Michael Vartan was on an epsidoe of Friends. He was Richards son.

  3. Lindsey says:

Darnit! I was so excited to read this headline… And then so let down to read that it’s only for a guest spot. Ugh. So he’ll probably only do one episode?? Hopefully he kills it and they add him on as a series regular!!! :)

Michael Vartan and Jeremy Roenick – I am so in!!

Awesome news! Seriously, Michael Vartan needs to be a regular on another series. A guest spot or cameo isn’t enough.
