TVLine has learned exclusively that relative newcomer Tessa Ferrer is joining Grey’s Anatomy‘s ninth season in a recurring role.
Little is known about her character, but it’s a safe bet that she will be playing one of the new interns at S.G. — or possibly another hospital to be featured in the coming season. (Remember, several of the docs were due to relocate to new jobs before that plane crash.)
Ferrer, who has a part in the upcoming John Sayles indie Go For Sisters (opposite, coincidentally, former Grey’s star Isaiah Washington), is the latest unit of new blood to be injected into the ABC hit. As previously reported, Veronica Mars‘ Tina Majorino, Friday Night Lights‘ Gaius Charles and True Blood‘s Camilla Luddington have come on board in multi-episode roles.
Grey’s Anatomy returns returns Thursday, Sept. 27 at 9/8c.Follow @MichaelAusiello
