Get More: Casting News, Pilots

Sprague Grayden Low Winter Sun24 alum Sprague Grayden has joined AMC’s drama pilot Low Winter Sun, TVLine has learned.

The project, based on the 2006 UK miniseries of the same name, is being billed as a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption that starts with the murder of a cop at the hands of fellow Detroit detective Frank Agnew (Mark Strong, who starred in the British version). Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter that detective’s life and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld.

Grayden, who has an upcoming arc on White Collar, will play the fierce and ruthless Elena, the wife of organized crime syndicate member Damon (James Ransone).

The cast also includes Grayden’s former Jericho co-star Lennie James.

  • Hopefully her character in Low Winter Sun won’t be as annoying as Olivia Taylor was in 24.

  • Good casting – she was awesome and heartbreaking on Sons of Anarchy.

Also, despite constant misuse, alumnae is still a plural noun – the singular is alumna.

    • Was it really necessary to spoil that for people who haven’t seen those shows?

        • I’m not late to the party, I’ve already seen it. I’m just mindful of other people, and in a post that’s not specifically about the two shows you mentioned, there’s no need to throw spoilers around.
