Jillian Bell (Workaholics) has landed a recurring role on the new comedy series as Renata, the second cousin of Sophia Bush’s character, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Not only is Renata related to Bush’s Ali, she’s also employed at her jewelry store. Described as “a work-in-progress,” Renata is a bit of a personal and professional mess, who’s suffered a string of bad relationships and recently got fired from her truck stop diner job because of nerves. Still, she’s determined to hold onto her gig at Ali’s place of business.

Written and executive-produced by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick (Will & Grace), Partners follows two architects and lifelong friends — the straight Charlie (David Krumholtz) and the gay Louis (Michael Urie) — and their significant others (Bush and Brandon Routh, respectively), who often play second fiddle to Charlie and Louis’ marriage-like relationship.

In addition to Comedy Central’s Workaholics, Bell’s credits include Friends With Benefits, Franklin & Bash and Worst Week.

Partners debuts Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

I hope this is good, but I’m not holding my breath.

  2. Mulekick74 says:

We are supposed to believe that Sophia Bush is going to date David Krumholtz? I wonder if David Krumholtz still has to wear a girdle like he did in Numbers.

    • bumbaclot says:

jealous? I bet lots of actors wear girdles. sounds like you are an out of work actor, or someone even sadder. He’s wearing that girdle all the way to the bank.

Jillian is hysterical in Workaholics. Ugh, this is going to make me want to check this show out now…
