What to Watch Monday: The Closer Closes, Teen Wolf's Hairy Finale, Things Look Grimm and More

On TV this Monday: Will The Closer get her man in the series’ final hour? Plus, Teen Wolf is doggedly determined to take down Derek, Gordon Ramsay checks into Hotel Hell and the evening for NBC looks Grimm (in a good way). As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked below), here are eight programs to look out for tonight.

8 pm Hotel Hell (Fox) | The two-night premiere of Gordon Ramsay’s latest project – think Kitchen Nightmares for the hospitality biz – begins with a trip to the Juniper Hill Inn in Windsor, Vt. Check out a sneak preview here!

9 pm The Closer (TNT) | Series finale: Graham Patrick Martin (Two and a Half Men) guest-stars as a young hustler who sees what appears to be a man burying a woman in Griffith Park, prompting an investigation Brenda thinks will lead to Phillip Stroh. Brenda’s obsession with “the one that got away,” though, may threaten not only  her career but also her life. As star Kyra Sedgwick teased to TVLine in July,  “She could never get him, and that really sticks in her craw, to say the least.”

9 pm Intervention (A&E) | Season 13 of the serious downer unscripted substance-abuse program kicks off with back-to-back episodes.

PREVIEW | Major Crimes Vs. The Closer: What’s the Same? What’s Different? And Is There Still Candy?

10 pm Major Crimes (TNT) | Series premiere: Life goes on in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes division in this spin-off of The Closer. Captain Raydor (played by Mary McDonnell) is now in charge… and man, does she have her work cut out for her.

10 pm Grimm (NBC) | Season 2 premiere: Nick, Monroe and the gang are back! Nick copes with the return of his presumed-dead mom while racing to find a cure for comatose Juliette. Watch a Season 1 recap here, then press PLAY below to see the cast preview the wild new season. (P.S. Grimm originals will also air the following three Mondays, before the show settles back into its regular Fridays-at-9 time slot.)

10 pm Teen Wolf (MTV) | Season 2 finale: A death on the lacrosse field forces Scott and his pals to figure out Gerard’s master plan, while Derek plots to take him down in his own way.

10 pm Alphas (Syfy) | Nina’s breakdown and subsequent crime spree sets the team in motion. Need another nudge? This is the episode with the “intense” kiss between Nina and Rachel (watch it here).

10:30 Get to Work (Sundance) | Series premiere: An innovative re-employment program in San Diego is the focus of this new unscripted drama, which follows students from all walks of life as they go through unemployment bootcamp.

  • I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of The Closer. I can’t wait to watch it, and see how on Earth Kyra/Brenda Leigh leaves. It seems impossible. In honour I am re-watching the earlier seasons and I hope Major Crimes is just as good – it should be, but there’s going to be a massive hole where Brenda Leigh was, and who knows if Raydor can fill it…

    • I can’t wait to watch it to see what happens with Brenda (especially since Fritz is still around on Major Crimes), and with Gabriel since he will not be on Major Crimes.

    • I agree. I never missed The Closer. I like Mary McDonnell as an actress. But I really dislike the Capt Raydor character.

      • It’s okay to watch shows with unlikable leads, kids. House wasn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows either.

  • Teen Wolf Finale. Sad it is going so soon. Happy to have heard it is getting a full season order for season 3. I hope Jackson is not dead dead.
Never got into Grimm. I tried, so won’t be watching season 2. But they should get good numbers because they are back so early for the season. No competition.
I’ll also be watching Stars Earn Stripes.

  • I’m watching Hotel Hell & Hell’s Kitchen.

I was just going to type about Perception, but it’s not on this week. :-(

  • OK rant coming …….. Bunheads has pushed it too far. It’s become a high/low project. Gilmore Girls being the $125,000 version, and Bunheads being the cheap copy. Town meeting with the Taylor Dosey clone. Kirk selling coffee [he always wanted to be behind the counter], Gypsy being Gypsy, Emily being Emily, the clumsy teen liking the boy and embarrassing herself [see Lane and the band guy with great hair]. ASP is just re-cycling. It’s only a matter of time before Scott Patterson shows up and he’s way too hot for Sutton. I’m done.

  • Nooo I missed Grimm because I’m in Arizona and there’s no Daylight Saving Time!
