Who Is TV's Ultimate Mean Girl? Let the Nominating Process Begin!

There’s a name for you, ladies. But it isn’t used in high society…outside of a kennel.” We all know and love that zinger from the 1939 classic The Women — or at least we should! — and it will certainly apply to the participants of TVLine’s next great bracket tournament.

Yes folks, get ready for TV’s Ultimate Mean Girl, a single-elimination tourney that will celebrate the small screen’s all-time greatest she-devils, harpies, vixens, harridans, and “rhymes with the English-language equivalent of brujas.” The tournament obviously would be invalid without the likes of Revenge‘s Victoria Grayson, Melrose Place‘s Amanda Woodward, and Ugly Betty‘s Wilhelmina Slater, but we need a total of 64 delectable ladies to channel our inner Tim Gunns and make it work. And that’s where you come in.

Head on down to the comments section and nominate your favorite TV mean girls — we welcome characters from classic TV series all the way through to current hits — and give us a few reasons why these battle axes shouldn’t be left out of our tournament. We’ll then scour your list of nominees and your well-reasoned arguments to select our full roster of 64.

So start your nominating below, and for up-to-the-minute alerts on when TV’s Ultimate Mean Girls will begin, sign up to follow me on Twitter @MichaelSlezakTV!

    • Yes to the Spartacus ladies. Lucretia blackmailing Ilithyia after she murdered a roman woman; and Ilithyia leaving the ludus and closing the doors behind her to let the slaves murder everyone else inside. Both women were totally evil and amazing

    Tiffani Theissan’s character from 90210

Anna Sheridan from Babylon 5 (though not a regular and I may be one of the few who remembers;-)

    • Wow! Someone mentioned Mags! Fantastic! I thought I was going to be the only one. And just as a comment here, we should not limit ourselves to “girls.” Full grown women should definitely count — even the not very attractive ones.
To me, her role in “Justified” is one of the most purely evil female roles I have *ever* seen on tv.

    • I had forgotten about Glory. She definitely needs to be on this list! She is almost the epitome of what a “mean girl” is all about!

  • This is the most extensive list I could come up with in 20 minutes or so. I’m certain I’m leaving a big one or two out, but to me, all of these women have screen presence, memorable performances and inspire in me affection or even love for them, despite their often cruel or inhumane attitudes and actions. I intentionally left out characters I just detested.

    Cordelia Chase, Buffy
    Faith Lehane, Buffy
    Darla, Buffy
    Drusilla, Buffy
    Glory, Buffy
    Illyria, Angel
    Lilah Morgan, Angel
    Saffron, Firefly
    Adelle DeWitt, Dollhouse
    Jaye Tyler, Wonderfalls
    Janet Gavin, Rescue Me
    Sheila Keefe, Rescue Me
    Kimber Henry, Nip/Tuck
Santana Lopez, Glee (NOT Sue Sylvester)
    Ellie Torres, Cougar Town
    Jordan Sullivan, Scrubs
Regina Mills / The Evil Queen, Once Upon A Time
    Nina Myers, 24
    Turanga Leela, Futurama
    Lucille Bluth, Arrested Development
Chloe McGruff, Don’t Trust The B—- in Apt. 23
Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel / Harley Quinn, Batman The Animated Series
    Sadie Saxton, Awkward
