Who Is TV's Ultimate Mean Girl? Let the Nominating Process Begin!

There’s a name for you, ladies. But it isn’t used in high society…outside of a kennel.” We all know and love that zinger from the 1939 classic The Women — or at least we should! — and it will certainly apply to the participants of TVLine’s next great bracket tournament.

Yes folks, get ready for TV’s Ultimate Mean Girl, a single-elimination tourney that will celebrate the small screen’s all-time greatest she-devils, harpies, vixens, harridans, and “rhymes with the English-language equivalent of brujas.” The tournament obviously would be invalid without the likes of Revenge‘s Victoria Grayson, Melrose Place‘s Amanda Woodward, and Ugly Betty‘s Wilhelmina Slater, but we need a total of 64 delectable ladies to channel our inner Tim Gunns and make it work. And that’s where you come in.

Head on down to the comments section and nominate your favorite TV mean girls — we welcome characters from classic TV series all the way through to current hits — and give us a few reasons why these battle axes shouldn’t be left out of our tournament. We’ll then scour your list of nominees and your well-reasoned arguments to select our full roster of 64.

So start your nominating below, and for up-to-the-minute alerts on when TV’s Ultimate Mean Girls will begin, sign up to follow me on Twitter @MichaelSlezakTV!

Also half of these people became really nice / good people or are mostly good people but have mean streaks. Either way, excited, I love mean girls on my television.

  • The Fashion Club on “Daria”, they were MEAN MEAN MEAN!

and how about a lifetime achievement award for Morgan Fairchild I mean basically every character she’s played since the 80′s has been a mean girl.

Now to represent the daytime soaps:

    we gotta acknowledge:

Alexandra Spaulding on Guiding Light as played by Marj Dusay

Tracey Quatermaine on General Hospital (she once refused to give her father his heart medication as he had a heart attack… he was faking and she got kicked out of the family)

Erica Kane on All My Children— She is soaps ultimate bad girl—selfish, vain and thinks only of her self. She is impatient and acts on impulse.

Barbara Ryan Munson Montgomery on As The World Turns… She was a bad girl who somewhat mellowed out over the years.

Kendall Hart on All My Children— Sarah Michelle Gellar originated the role of Erica Kane’s long lost (unwanted) daughter who was the product of a rape. She came to town for revenge after learning she had been adopted and who her mother was. She went so far as to become Erica’s personal assistant, seduce Erica’s husband and accuse him of rape (which resulted in Erica stabbing him). Later they made peace but Kendall still had a bad side.

Carly Benson Roberts Corinthos Jax on General Hospital— She also returned to town to get revenge on the mother that gave her up for adoption; except this time she stole her mothers husband and got pregnant which resulted in one of the most drawn out paternity storylines in soap history.

Arlene vaungh on All My Children: Among her sickest acts; driving her daughter Haylee to alcoholism and sleeping with Alec, who was married at the time to her daughter.

  • Janet “From Another Planet” Marlowe Green Dilion on “All My Children” She was played by two very incredible actresses; Kate Collins and Robin Mattson. But she is known for being a psychotic character who famously threw her twin sister down a well and took over her life. She has also killed her own husband, Trevor and got involved in custody battles. She has blown up buildings in town and is a true soap opera mean girl.

  • I definitely vote Cersei. She knew Jon Arryn had her…so she killed him. She knew Bran caught her, so Jaime pushed her. And she knew Ned had her, and would tell the king that Joffrey wasn’t his…so she got rid of the king and then Joffrey got rid of Ned. That’s pretty evil.
