Ratings: Big Brother Returns With Little Dip, Hope Rebounds, Rock Center Cruises to 6-Month High
Scientology works… when it comes to boosting the ratings for Rock Center. The NBC newsmag’s piece on the religion, pegged to TomKat’s divorce, drew 5.24 million total viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, up 58 and 33 percent week-to-week and marking the show’s best numbers since late January.
Leading into the Rock, Saving Hope (3.2 mil/0.5) rebounding from last week’s soft outing with gains of 45 and 25 percent.
Thursday’s big premiere, Big Brother (7.1 mil/2.6), was down a few percentage points from last summer’s opener, but drew its second-highest premiere numbers since Feb. 2008, CBS notes.
* ABC’s Duets was flat at 4.8 mil/1.0, while Wipeout (5.6 mil/1.7) dipped a tenth in the demo. Rookie Blue (4.8 mil/1.3) won its hour in the demo but placed third in viewers, losing a handful of eyeballs.
* Fox’s Take Me Out was flat at 3 mil/1.2, while The Choice‘s season finale, with those same numbers, dropped 21 and 25 percent week-to-week.
* The 8:30 Big Bang Theory repeat led the night with an audience of 9 million total viewers and a 2.8 demo rating (edging out Big Brother).
