Get More: News, Premieres, Ratings

ABC’s coverage of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night averaged 13.2 million total viewers and a 5.6 demo rating, based on preliminary numbers. That marks an improvement of 2 percent over last year’s Mavericks/Heat series opener, while of course easily trouncing all other comers.

Amongst the competition, America’s Got Talent (10.85 mil/3.0) dropped 14 percent week-to-week yet still scored the largest audience and best demo number of any regularly scheduled programming. Leading into that, American Ninja Warrior (4.9 mil/1.6) plunged 27 percent from its last outing.

Over on Fox, Hell’s Kitchen (5.3 mil/2.1) and MasterChef (4.9 mil/2.1) held rock-steady week-to-week.

Elsewhere on the night, The CW’s The Catalina (with 649,000 total viewers and a 0.2 rating) dipped a tenth in the demo, and NBC’s Love in the Wild (5 mil/1.6) added a few eyeballs while flat in the demo.
