Emmys 2012: The Supporting Comedy Actress Race in Review, Including Our Dream Nominees

We love Betty White as much as the next person, but wouldn’t it be cool to see the Hot in Cleveland star’s inevitable 2012 Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nod go to an actress from Community or Happy Endings? As for the other slots, you can count on Modern Family’s Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, and Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig scoring nods come July 19. And the final two vacancies? They’re pretty much up for grabs.

  • I could only vote for Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec) and Eden Sher (The Middle). Eden Sher is deservingly brilliant.

I also added Retta of Parks & Rec. “Did you grow up in the woods? Are you Nell from the movie ‘Nell?’” LMAO!!!!!

  • COMMUNITY LADIES FOR THE WIN!!! It is honestly so sad that Brie, Brown and Jacobs won’t get any Emmy recognition. This truly is the darkest timeline.

  • “30 Rock” can’t end next year without Jane Krakowski winning an Emmy for her great job in the series. Give it to her Emmy voters! But, as much as I love and admire Betty White it’d be better to see Wendie Malick or Jane Leeves nominated.

  • No one has mentioned the best comedic turn of the year – the always amazing Vanessa Williams – fantastic once again as Renee Perry in DH

  • I’m catching up on Modern Family, still in mid-2nd season, but I don’t think Julie Bowen should really get a nomination. She just seems to be playing a variation of herself- as is the case for Lena Dunham on Girls.

  • I will give anything to see Anna Chlumsky nominated.

  • I think that Naya Rivera did an amazing job acting on this season of Glee but I agree with Aus here that most of her best scenes were to dramatic for comedy, she is a brilliant actress and an amazing singer though

  • Why is Sofia Vergara winning? BOOBS
Not that she doesn’t have talent, she does, but I think some people has more.
    I’m so routing for Naya!
