Happily Divorced First Look Video: Dan Aykroyd Is Fran's [Spoiler!]

Streams will metaphorically cross when onetime Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd guest-stars on this Wednesday’s Happily Divorced (TV Land, 10:30/9:30c) — in a “dual” role of sorts.

The Saturday Night Live alum is first introduced in the episode as Harold, Fran’s cat-loving blind date from hell that sends her running back to ex-boyfriend Elliot. That reunion in turn lands the couple on a therapist’s couch.

Thing is, Harold turns out to be said shrink, leading to a scene that proves three is in fact a crowd.

Press PLAY below to watch Aykroyd in action — and hear his highly unprofessional advice for Fran’s former beau.

  1. MJ says:

I am so over the Eliott character. Either make them a couple or drop the storyline.

  2. Ghostbusters, really? How about a Doctor Detroit reference since they were in that movie together? It’s a Doctor Detroit reunion.

    • Danyelle says:

By my math, you assume that this writer is at *least* 35 years old to remember a rather obscure movie. Have you seen the typical web site staff? Ghostbusters is definitely an easier pop lexicon reference.

      • Detroit came out a year before Ghostbusters, and it’s certainly been on TV enough times since then to be known.

      • CJ says:

A writer doesn’t have to have been a teenager when a movie came out to know about it. Most of us know about at least a few things from before our high school years (and should know a lot more). Life is more than just remembering a few famous movie so we can make reference to them.

    • Stacey says:

Love, love love them together. A Dr. Detroit reference to making MOM mad would have been perfect.

      • Dr. Detroit would be more in line with the plot of this episode since in that movie D.A also played a dual role. The puns practically would write themselves, heh.

Dan & Fran look gr8 together. They r really friends. He has been on every one of Fran’s shows! As 4 Elliot, he is like Fran’s Mr Big from Sex in the City. The goal post just out of Fran’s reach. I think a lot of women gravitate to trying to win the unwinable & can relate. Anyway I LOVE the show & follow @frandrescher on twitter.

  4. Ed says:

I have to say, HD has been hilarious this season. There isn’t an episode where I am lmao. My favorite line thus far has be from Judi. When Fran’s mom was saying how her and her husband don’t make love much anymore, and it dwindled down to 3x a week (or something like that). with Judi saying under her breath (you poor B**ch) LMAO

    • Peter says:

Actually that was the other way around, Fran’s mom was complaining all her husband wanted was sex, six nights a week…to wich Judi said that you poor B**ch line :)
