TVLine Items: Glee Plans Britney Tribute No. 2, Ex-Community EPs Join Fox Comedy and More!

It’s official: Glee is a slave for Britney Spears.

Fox’s musical dramedy is planning to pay tribute to the pop icon — and new X Factor judge — for a second time, reports.

Unlike the first homage circa September 2010, the Season 4 showcase — which will feature eight of Spears’ songs — will not focus solely on Heather Morris’ doofy Brittany. Also, while Spears isn’t currently attached to again put in a cameo, the producers are hopeful she’ll appear in some way, shape or form. They are all Fox family members now!

  1. Mark says:

The first Britney episode was one of my least favorites.

    • Russ says:

Seriously! Hopeful they will focus on the episode and not just having Britney Spears music in it like last time.

      • rowan77 says:

Sadly that’s not the way Glee works. Every episode centered around one performer’s music always is horribly light on plot.

    • laylagalise says:

Exactly. Why do another Britney Spears episode when there are so many more talented artists who haven’t been showcased.

  2. Chris says:

    Community saying adios to 2 Showrunners….Homie don’t Dean this…

  3. I haven’t watched Glee in a while but I will watch the Britney episode.

  4. All this synergy would make Jack Donaghy proud

  5. Rolfe says:

So excited! Seems like a very smart idea by Fox. They need to utilize Britney Spears as much as they can.

  6. A says:

sounds like fun, however, there are many other artists that they could give a tribute to. they should reconsider

  7. Z says:

Britney’s one liners have been lacking this season, as in we needed more of them.
Hopefully they will make up for it in the last few episodes of the season.

  8. freddie says:

Wow, it’s like they’re making my decision for me not to watch Glee anymore.

  9. Sally says:

What songs will they cover, I wonder? Butchering “Sometimes” and “Lucky” is probably high on their priority list. wait, did they do Lucky already? Can’t remember.

  10. Danielle H says:

    Animated Roldy and KOOOmar! SWEET!

  11. Rhythm Nation says:

And Janet Jackson still gets nothing.
