TVLine Items: Glee Plans Britney Tribute No. 2, Ex-Community EPs Join Fox Comedy and More!

It’s official: Glee is a slave for Britney Spears.

Fox’s musical dramedy is planning to pay tribute to the pop icon — and new X Factor judge — for a second time, EW.com reports.

Unlike the first homage circa September 2010, the Season 4 showcase — which will feature eight of Spears’ songs — will not focus solely on Heather Morris’ doofy Brittany. Also, while Spears isn’t currently attached to again put in a cameo, the producers are hopeful she’ll appear in some way, shape or form. They are all Fox family members now!

  • The first Britney episode was one of my least favorites.

    • Seriously! Hopeful they will focus on the episode and not just having Britney Spears music in it like last time.

      • Sadly that’s not the way Glee works. Every episode centered around one performer’s music always is horribly light on plot.

    • Exactly. Why do another Britney Spears episode when there are so many more talented artists who haven’t been showcased.

  • So excited! Seems like a very smart idea by Fox. They need to utilize Britney Spears as much as they can.

  • Britney’s one liners have been lacking this season, as in we needed more of them.
Hopefully they will make up for it in the last few episodes of the season.

  • What songs will they cover, I wonder? Butchering “Sometimes” and “Lucky” is probably high on their priority list. wait, did they do Lucky already? Can’t remember.

    • ^This. I know Glee can do better than jamming in Control with a Jackson 5 mashup.
