Awake was wonderful and I hope the season finale wraps things up. Too bad it never found an audience. I really enjoyed every minute of this season.

  2. Sandy says:

It seems if a show needs any kind of cerebral thinking by the audience, it gets cancelled. “Awake” kept me captivated every week! I suppose it’ll be replaced with another dumb reality show! The rest of those were junk…and I had really hoped for better from Chelsea Handler.

  3. Does the cancellation of Awake mean that BD Wong will be coming back to SVU? I reeeeeaaaaaally hope so–I think I miss Dr Huang more than I miss Stabler…

  4. DP says:

Love the show Awake. Who can we contact at NBC to complain.

  5. Linderella says:

Once again NBC shows a total disregard for their viewers. Awake joins a long line of quality dramas the Peacock has *issed on because it’s so important to create opportunities for great shows like The Apprentice, The Biggest Loser, and train wreck that will America’s Got Talent. I think this is the last season I’ll invest any time in connecting with an NBC drama which stars quality actors and an has an interesting premise. Tedium and trash are evidently desirable commodities in NBC land.

  6. Todd says:

SO SO SO bummed about Awake! Best new drama, great acting, writing, creativity. Was filling the void of ‘Lost.’ NBC should have given it more of a chance. Damn!

  7. cool8man says:

Awake was the best new TV show of the year. How the hell could they cancel something as brilliant and original as Awake????

I haven’t been this interested in a TV drama since Lost. I am praying to the TV gods above that a better channel will pick up Awake. Netflix, HBO, AMC, TNT, anyone who cares to make good television and keep good TV shows alive, please pick-up Awake.

Last night’s episode was amazing. This show needs to live on. Any network that is this blind to quality TV is destined for failure. NBC has no hope.

  8. Billy says:

No! Chelsea! That show was hysterical!

  9. MelindaB says:

I have been really enjoying Awake (it’s Jason Isaacs, Cherry Jones and B.D. Wong–what’s not to love?), and didn’t get to see Bent on TV so I started watching on Hulu–of course it was canceled, because I loved it.

  10. quentin C says:

Awake was high quality, but too smart and demanding for many people. Too bad.

  11. Linderella says:

BTW, if Jason Isaacs doesn’t get an Emmy nod based on last night’s outstanding episode there is truly no justice in TVland. Here’s hoping Netflix or some other cable entity seizes the opportunity to pick up this outstanding series. Actually, any network fortunate enough to have Jason Isaacs on board will immediately elevate their stature. I guess with two postings on this blog it’s apparent how disappointed I am (and dozens of other posters are) about Awake’s cancellation.

  12. Martina says:

now Harry’s Law has been cancelled “Yea, Tweeters. Sad news today. Harry’s Law will not be renewed for a 3rd season. We are all terribly sad. Many thanks for all your support.” from Kathy Bates twitter

  13. Ben says:

Awake was amazing and to hear this after last night’s AWESOME episode is just frustrating. Such a qualiy, different show that was acutally easy to understand. Yes, it makes you think and had that police procedual but the acting was superior. Especially when he wakes up finally in the blue world. Such a shame NBC has to suck major you know what. Cast of Awake, you guys were amazing and it showed how much everyone cared in every episode.

  14. Robin says:

:( I really like Awake. Ah well…at least they renewed Parenthood. :)

  15. jess says:

    Loved AWAKE :(

  16. theresa says:

Love Awake!! After all the good news today this really bums me out. It’s a great show with an original, intelligent plot. UGH!!

  17. Sam says:

I haven’t seen Awake yet (but from what I’ve heard it’s quite good) but I feel NBC made a huge mistake by premiering it mid-season. Last year it was probably the most buzzed show alongside New Girl (If I remember correctly) but after it was shelved the buzz died down and to be honest I lost interest as I’m sure a lot of likely viewers did.
I can’t believe Whitney got renewed though. I’ve only seen one episode but it’s probably the worst one I’ve seen. Boo, NBC!

  18. S. says:

NBC (if they have a Board) Board Members should CANCEL the President and Execs producers contracts for canceling AWAKE! They should find ppl who respect their fans! PLUS, how could they let Whitney survive!? Wow.

    • Jared says:

I’ll vote for that. AWAKE was the first halfway INTELLIGENT show to come to television in year. What a bunch of myops these programming execs are. Either that or their socio political agenda’s weren’t being met. Kind of makes you wonder exactly WHO is pulling the strings these days???

  19. James says:

I have mixed feelings, Grimm was saved, and my inner child enjoys Griimm so first I smile. Then I read that Awake is cancelled, and my adult brain enjoys Awake because it makes me think, but thinking shows and particularly thinking shows which demand your attention week to week don’t seem to last. Lost was an exception, perhaps it was the ensemble of actors which created the hook.

  20. Stephen says:

There should be a show where a man gets in an accident and wakes up only to discover he lives in two worlds: One where Awake gets renewed and Whitney cancelled, the other vice-versa. We can call it “Justice.”

  21. John says:

It’s sad when they can cancel a show (AWAKE, LIFE ON MARS, FLASH FORWARD) citing ratings, when, really, they never asked us. Their “rating system” is a JOKE. It does not give an accurate read as to how many people are actually watching AND ENJOYING a show. The show was a smart, insightful series that made you THINK. Oh, excuse me, what was I thinking. Those are the shows that THEY think nobody can watch and understand.

  22. Colin West says:

Just want to join the chorus of “Awake” fans! It may be getting low ratings on television but tons of us are watching it on Hulu because it’s one of the cleverest “mystery/thriller” type dramas to be on television for years. You suck NBC! You always let the good ones die to make room for more crap that only old people watch.

  23. AJ says:

Best Friends Forever was hysterical! I am so sad it has been cancelled. I laughed out loud so many times during each episode. The two actresses were absolutely hilarious and had great chemistry. The guys in the cast as well as the girl who played Q were also great. What a bummer it was cancelled.

  24. They suck. I love Awake-this has happened to at least 3 NBC shows I have gotten into! According to iTunes ratings, awake is 4 1/2 stars…doesn’t that count for something? Sooooo irritated right now!!!!

  25. Allie says:

Super bummed about Awake. I understand why it was cancelled, it had only about 2 million people watching it, but I’m still super sad because it was an interesting and trippy show that deserved more of a chance. It would do well on USA network if they picked it up, or even SYFY channel. I’m still going to have a little bit of hope that someone will be smart enough to resurrect this awesome show.

  26. Wes says:

Damn, my family really enjoyed Awake. I wish the network would reconsider their decision.

  27. Chelsea says:

NBC if you are reading these, BRING BACK AWAKE!!!!!!!! They keep canceling shows I get emotionally involved in! 😢

  28. Ryan says:

Hello to Jason Isaacs! (and condolences)

  29. Ryan says:

Fox produces Awake, so maybe they’ll find it a home on one of their channels. Or have it as a Hulu or Netflix exclusive. It’ll probably require a campaign of some sort, though.

  30. Jody Sherin says:

Well, I already said it once tonight when I found out NBC cancelled Harry’s Law: Soon there will be nothing left to watch on NBC. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

  31. annna says:

too bad desition abt Awake, I personally believe is one of the best shows at the moment, really hope will come back !

  32. Monica says:

Aww I’m bummed about Awake. We really enjoyed that show and Jason Issacs performance. My son barely believes he is Lucious Malfoy !

  33. We love Thursday nights, thanks to “Missing,” “Person of Interest,” “Touch” and “Awake!” Yes, these shows require a brain and some concentration, which is obviously too much for a lot of people these days. I’d heard rumors that “Awake” was probably on the chopping block. Sad to see it go. As long as the other three survive, we’ll continue to watch “Missing” and “Person of Interest” and DVR “Touch.” And I guess we’ll see what they replace the “Awake” time slot with.

  34. Missy says:

Awake is a great show: the concept is original and Jason Isaacs’ acting is nothing short of amazing. It was an ambitious move for a Big Three network though as historically the American public has not been able to handle anything more complex than the plot of the average porno. With any luck, AMC or another will grab it.

  35. Robin says:

Awake was such a good show! Too bad they won’t have a chance to let teh story unfold. Great acting.

  36. Lee says:

I can’t believe they are cancelling Awake!! It is an excellent plot with outstanding cast, and unlike so many shows that seem to get renewed season after season, Awake actually challenges the viewer to think about it. I surely ope NBC reconsiders about dropping Awake, or another more savy network or cable channel picks it up. It is too good to be dropped!

  37. hemeekek says:

REALLY REALLY?!?!?! Please I beg of you TNT pick Awake up-I love that show the only thing on NBC I watch. And why was it canceled? Wrong night-or because you didn’t promote it enough?-Or because you need room for” Duets”??? Like anyone is gonna watch that.

  38. lily says:

What they’ve done to Awake would have been like canceling CHUCK after the first season…….And don’t even get me started on the way they ended that….Anyway NOOO BRING BACK AWAKE or PLease please someone else buy the rights to it and save it.

  39. gena says:

  40. Cindy says:

WHAT???!!! is wrong with you NBC? Everyone I ask and apparently all @ comments really love AWAKE!!! So many dumbed down shows! We are all very frustrated and angry! Great cast, storyline, intelligently written… PLEASE STOP YANKING YOUR VIEWERS/CUSTOMERS AROUND!!! STOP CANCELING THE GREAT SHOWS AND KEEPING THE CRAPPY ONES! WE, THE CONSUMERS MAY HAVE TO DO SOME CAMPAIGNING/ ONLINE/SOCIAL NETWORK MAJOR PROTESTS IF AWAKE STAYS CANCELED!!!

    • Heidi Byrd says:

I agree keep me posted I love this show!! I’ve signed the online petition but I don’t know what else to do?!

  41. In an alternate reality, Awake lives and Whitney has died…

  42. codfish says:

what the heck? Awake was just getting to the best part!!

  43. philip michael says:

AWAKE is awesome. why the heck cancel. bring back

  44. Heidi Byrd says:

Please Please don’t cancel Awake!!!! My family and I look forward to Thursdays just to see Awake!!! I love this show! It makes you think! At least tell us the ending before the show leaves the air!!!

    • polidiotic says:

The creator promises a satisfying ending. Such a sad end, though… All of the good shows get cancelled entirely too soon: Firefly, V, Black Donnelys, Journeyman, Life on Mars, Alcatraz, Terra Nova, and now Awake…

Comparing these to what was actually renewed gives you an idea of the state of the country… Unreality TV and a multitude of Law & Order/CSI clones reign supreme. That should tell you something.

      • Eric says:

Sadly the people who run networks only care about the bottom line, perceived popularity so they can sell airtime and don’t care about content.Bean Counters running a creative enterprise.CSI MIami is finally going but I left it five years ago.Never liked CSI N.Y. even with the good people they had there. Now Missing and Awake are going and I love both shows.Every year it’s the same thing.Rubicom was even too methodical for cable tv and that was a great show too. It’s disheartening.

  45. carlos says:

This is really a shame. Awake is probably the best written and unpredictable show in a very long time. I suppose that now we will watch another lame sitcom with the usual punch lines and sexual overtones that every other network has to offer. Isn’t this the same network that was going to cancel Seinfeld. Have patience you idiots.

  46. jason says:

i really feel that if NBC had someone in charge that could just stick to their guns and run a good show for a full season, people like me– who watch Bent, Awake, Prime Suspect, etcetera– we would spread the word and ratings would come up. I had all my friends watching Bent and we all liked it. Bummer.

  47. Michelle says:

I’m seriously thinking of boycotting NBC for good. Heroes, and now Awake. Can’t stand that network.

    • T. GUCCI says:

  48. lou says:

Well now I’m really mad, in England we are on the 2nd episode of awake! Like alcatraz cancelled before its even really begun. No point even getting into it now! Like America we are stuck with lousy reality shows and it sucks big time.

  49. Randall says:

I loved Awake! This just goes to show that NBC doesnt have the mental capacity or the brain power to comprehend what we, the general public, can. I think the switching worlds thing confused them.

    • Eric says:

Despite being in two worlds simultaneously it’s unfortunate that neither world was one that NBC seemed to exist in.Hard to believe the execs at NBC even watch the shows they put on.Well there goes Missing(ABC) and Awake 2/5’s of my fav night on tv.Thankfully Grimm seems to have caught on-that’s a really fun show too.

  50. Carolina says:

I loved Awake too!!! I don’t believe it… very very sad… is the same old story with NBC!!!
