House Series Finale First Look: 'The End' Is Here

House fans, time’s running out for you faster than a Princeton-Plainsboro patient covered in boils and bleeding from the fingernails.

With less than a month to go before the long-running series’ finale, TVLine has your exclusive first look at the new key art hyping the May 21 event. In the Fox drama’s just-released image, a resigned-looking House holds his broken cane in front of his chest. The words “the end” float behind him.

Falls right in line with the final episode’s ominous title, doesn’t it?

Good for House…. dedicated and determined to put that broken cane back together… that is such a metaphor for his character. Everyone else would have given up, but by the end of the show that cane will be healed and enjoying a productive future.. ((sniff, sniff ; )

  2. Cath says:

House does something to have to go back to prison, maybe? Gonna miss this show!!

  3. Joyce schneck says:

Dr Greg House will overdose! What a shame. He is such a hottie, and I wish it wasn’t the end because it is thebest show on tv. I watch reruns after reruns. :(

  4. dexter says:

He will die of lupus, see Kuthner in the afterlife, tell him that he was an idiot for killing himself. Then he will resurrect, scare the hell out of Taub and Foreman, drink 18 Vicodine pills, set fire in his office, kidnap Wilson, pack 6 prostitutes on his monster truck and drive out into legend. Seriously, this was the most entertaining and witty show. I loved acerbic humor and remarks. It will be greatly missed. Farewell dr. House.

  5. Ana Paula says:

    everybody dies…

  6. Wilson Cancer Give Me a Break says:

    Wilson dies from cancer.

  7. Wilson Cancer Give Me a Break says:

    What a lame crappy ending.

May as well take a gun and have DS kill all the cast as a special guest appearance.

  8. lisa says:

House becomes human. That’s the only thing I can think of

  9. Elizabeth says:

Will miss this show so ver much

  10. Amy says:

Well, we now know that the “C” word is probably “cancer,” as in Wilson’s. That’s a little odd (ironic?) to give the oncologist cancer. However, as always with House, C is probably for something else too. Maybe someone dies and House lives and he has to deal with it? Just wondering out loud…who knows? :)

  11. he’ll go out with a bang…push everyone on his team into a hell hole n run off into the sunset with his wife!

  12. Lee says:

    Wilson has cancer.

  13. Kar says:

Maybe something adverse happens to Wilson. He has, after all, been House’s support (hence the broken cane) for as long as we know!

  14. Samantha Lee says:

House not dying in the series finale will be a slap on the face. The darkness of his character demands that bittersweet release from the hell called life as he knows it.

In other news (and yes, kinda off-topic here, but…), can we ship Amy Farrah Fowler’s annoyingly condescending (and horny) ass—hells yeah, Shamy shippers, she’s NOTHING like Sheldon all right—to the House finale and have HER die too? Two seasons down and she’s still the ONLY character splitting the Big Bang fandom apart painfully. MAKE HER STOP.

  15. Carole says:

I think House’ll wake from a 7 season coma because he’s been in a coma since the end of the first season when they never *really* addressed him coming out of it, he was just suddenly back at work. As for the “c” word, it could be for a new opportunity with “C”uddy once he wakes, just a thought.

  16. Doug K. says:

he will lose everything he ever held dear.. cuddy, his wife, wilson, .. 13, and even kutner… it will leave him a broken and changed man.. thus, the cane.. yep, he’s going off the deep end..

  17. Lucy says:

Hahaha with that picture I just thought of House curing his leg

  18. wannabedoctor says:

Dr. House and Dr. Cuddy!!! ♥♥ me want to see you together again ^^

  19. Chiaradia. says:

I only know one thing, everybody lies.

  20. Why don’t we all kill ourselves when House ends?

  21. kathy says:

Does anyone know if there will be a House marathon to catch us up on this season before the finale? Or where I can watch the episodes I’ve missed online?

  22. Bob says:

Since Kal Penn is in the episode, maybe there’s a flashback to his funeral? That, or 13 dies at the hands of Dr. House (Kevorkian-style).

  23. Blake says:

They shot three final scenes on the 24th in San Louis Obispo.

House rides off in the sunset on his motorcycle. ;)

  24. James M. says:

I believe that for House, the cane has always symbolised a certain tether to comfort, so to speak. This is why he has always embrased the fact that he has to walk with the aide of a cane, as opposed to being repulsed by it as one would automatically assume of a ‘cripple’. (This is highlighted in episode 3.21 [‘Family’] when House makes Wilson replace the cane that his wife’s dog destroyed–House refers to the replacement cane as ‘bitchin”‘. It is also highlighted in episode 3.18 [‘Airborne’] when he is complaining to Cuddy that the airport officials took his “900 dollar” cane away for the duration of the flight). The artwork above shows House with his cane–his tether to comfort, so to speak–broken in half and extended in his hands. This could be a symbolic act indicating that House’s ‘comfort’–and, by extension quite possibly his own life–is destroyed.

Another prediction of mine is that House dies. (My interpretation and that of so many other fans.) Let’s not forget what happens at the end of ‘The Final Problem’ in the Sherlock Holmes canon (the series which ‘House’ is based upon): Holmes and Moriarty have a fight atop a waterfall which results in the death of Moriarty and the apparent death of Holmes. Of course, Holmes’ death is apparent, as it is revealed that he survived the fall and the fight with Moriarty, so I wouldn’t be particularly hard-pressed to predict a similar outcome for House.

  25. Janine Kaczynski says:

Fab pic. Great hair day ;) Love Hugh Laurie.

  26. Mora says:

House va a fingir su muerte y se va a alejar de todo el mundo.

  27. terese says:

House is leaving because he wants to get back into his other great career which is singing & playing & writing great music!!!

  28. teresa says:

The words Everybody Dies is going to be thirteens or Wilson’s line they say to House!!! Then House leaves to go find Cuddy! Other than who knows!!

  29. ella says:

I think in the finale, House is leaving and Chase is taking over team.
