The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Thursday

On TV this Thursday: Big Bang Theory is in a state of Spock, John Goodman goads Community into an epic pillow fight, Rules of Engagement returns with a scavenger hunt, Punk’d returns from a five-year hiatus and more. 6 pm 106 & Park (BET) | In the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy, BET News teams with 106 & Park to explore the issue of racial profiling, with award-winning journalist T.J. Holmes and a panel of special guests sharing their knowledge on this serious subject.

8 pm The Vampire Diaries (The CW) | After Klaus threatens someone close to Bonnie, she is forced to work on the spell he needs; Stefan’s emotional turmoil leads him to a dangerous confrontation with Klaus and a heartbreaking moment with Elena.

8 pm The Big Bang Theory (CBS) | It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, as Sheldon is haunted by Mr. Spock (voiced by Leonard Nimoy) after Penny buys him and Leonard Star Trek collectibles; Raj decides he has met the “Future Mrs. Koothrappali” after his parents set him up on a blind date.

8 pm Community (NBC) | In Part 1 of the epic pillow-and-blanket fort competition, Shirley, Piece and Britta battle against Greendale’s Subway shop, while Vice Dean Laybourne (John Goodman) plots to lure Troy to the Air Conditioning Repair Annex.

8:30 pm Rules of Engagement (CBS) | Season 6.5 premiere: In order to convince Audrey he is making an effort in their relationship, Jeff sends her on a romantic scavenger hunt — with mixed results; Adam leads Russell to believe that Jen has a sex tape. (Read preview!)

9 pm Person of Interest (CBS) | The Machine’s latest number presents a unique challenge for Reese and Finch since the person has virtually no digital footprint – and appears to be leading a double life. The Wire‘s Seth Gilliam and 24 alums Sarah Wynter and Rhys Coiro guest-star.

9 pm Touch (Fox) | Martin learns more about how Jake’s obsession with numbers works when he meets a homeless man (Felicity‘s Rob Benedict) with the same gift.

10 pm Punk’d (MTV) | After a five-year sabbatical, Ashton Kutcher passes the torch to a different celebrity host each week. Justin Bieber is up first, pranking friends Taylor Swift, Rob Dyrdek and Sean Kingston.

  • Big night tonight! Vampire Diaries, Community, 30 Rock, and Awake. I’ll catch up on Big Bang Theory On Demand, and maybe Rules of Engagement. I don’t really watch the show much, but I’m always happy to see it come back just because it gets pushed around (and off!) the schedule so much.

    • Back in November or December, Pittsburgh decided to play an episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire that featured the local newscasters. I feel your pain. Why don’t they play that garbage on a Friday?

  • I’ll watch BBT live (would rather watch community live, but overruled in my house). Then immediately watch Community on dvr followed by Rules of Engagement on dvr. I don’t watch anything else on Thursday, so I’ll catch up on some other dvrd events.

  • I can’t believe Missing and Big Bang and competing tonight; I’ll have to miss the first half of Missing but I’ve got to see (or hear!) Nimoy on BBG tonite.

  • I’m always looking forward to a new Community episode, but I’m disappointed to hear John Goodman is coming back. No disrespect to him, he is a great comic actor, but that character was not working out when he was on earlier in the season.
