Exclusive: Sopranos Vet Michael Imperioli Joins Jason Katims' NBC Medical Drama Pilot County

Michael Imperioli CountyEmmy-winning Sopranos vet Michael Imperioli has checked in at County, NBC’s hospital-based drama pilot from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood boss Jason Katims.

The project chronicles the lives of a group of young doctors, nurses, and administrators in a troubled LA County Hospital. Imperioli, last seen in ABC’s cop drama Detroit 1-8-7, will play Dr. Mercer, a veteran attending physician overseeing the incoming interns.

The impressive ensemble also includes Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights), Jess Weixler (Medium, Law & Order), Agam Darshi (Sanctuary) and Aimee Garcia (Dexter).

  • I love Michael Imperioli. He was fantastic in The Sopranos and Life On Mars. I’ll definitely be checking out this show.

  • Hope COUNTY gets the green light from NBC ’cause Michael Imperoli will always be Christopher from THE SOPRANOS. His character has becoming much of a hot headed mobster and he really deserve to get “whacked” by none other than (SPOILER ALERT).

  • I loved this show when it was called Grey’s Anatomy, Mercy, etc! But seriously it sounds good and he is an excellent actor so hopefully this one is a winner for him. Detroit 187 was awesome and probably would have made a better impression on cable (like Southland).
