ABC Announces New Bachelorette Premiere Date

Get More: Premieres, Reality TV

Onetime Bachelor “winner” Emily Maynard will begin her second televised search for love on Monday, May 14, when ABC launches the next cycle of The Bachelorette.

As previously reported, Maynard is set to star as the dating series’ lovelorn leading lady in its upcoming eighth season, which, unlike years past, moved production — to her hometown of Charlotte, N.C., to accommodate her life as a single mom.

“I think she’s America’s sweetheart and it will be a home run,” host Chris Harrison said of Maynard back in January during her casting announcement.

Maynard and her former Bachelor Brad Womack called off their engagement last summer, thus freeing her up to take part in the series once more.

  • She is going to kill this series if Ben and courtney already haven’t. Emily is solo unlike able and treated brad so badly so I don’t care if she finds love because she was just leave another man heartbroken

    • Wtf? Emily unlikable? She’s so sweet. Brad did not deserve her. He was way too old for her. There was no reason that he should have attempted to court her. Also, she probably wasn’t totally over her ex at that point.

  • I’m disappointed to see that Emily is putting her daughter into the mix, allowing them to film in her home and stating that her daughter needs to “approve” of her suitors. It would have been far, far better for her to leave her daughter in the care of relatives (and out of the spotlight) for six weeks while she went off and did her Bachelorette thing. And it would have been best of all to have declined to be on the show at all.

  • I can’t wait for Emily’s show to start! It’s my favorite show to unwind to after a long day at work with a glass of wine.
