Get More: Casting News, Pilots

Jay Harrington GuiltyBetter Off Ted‘s Jay Harrington is headed for the courtroom as one of the stars of Guilty, Fox’s Greg Berlanti-produced and Cuba Gooding, Jr.-fronted drama pilot.

The legal-themed project, penned by Berlanti’s Eli Stone collaborator Marc Guggenheim, centers on a brilliant, morally questionable defense attorney by the name of Billy (Gooding) who, after being falsely convicted of fraud and stripped of his legal license, uses his unorthodox methods to solve the cases he’s been prohibited from handling and to exact revenge on those who set him up.

Harrington will play Scott, a former colleague of Billy’s who has set up a practice of his own that Billy uses as a home base.

McG is directing the pilot and will serve as an EP alongside Berlanti, Guggenheim and Peter Johnson.

The cast also includes Californication‘s Eva Amurri Martino as a fellow lawyer.

  • Let’s all be honest: Eli Stone was a pleasantly distracting, but mostly terrible show. I loved Jay Harrington in Better of Ted and Desperate Housewives, but I’m not optimistic about this.

    • Agreed. If Loretta Devine wasn’t in it, it wouldn’t have been worth watching really.

  • Harrington is so much better than playing second fiddle to the guy who starred in Boat Trip.
