New Girl‘s string of handsome love interests for Jess continues when Dermot Mulroney — who famously romanced Rachel on Friends — shows up as the father of one of the adorkable gal’s students.

Not only is Mulroney’s Russell a wealthy, older man, but he also helps Jess out when her car breaks down in the March 20 episode (Fox, 9/8c). So rich, gorgeous and kind? It’s no wonder the two start dating even if Jess is a little nervous about it.

Hmm… Sounds like an interesting storyline. She starts dating an older man and then they will have an episode or two about how, with him being so much older, he will fit in with her roommates. I’m sure they will try to hang out with him and because of the age difference hilarity will ensue.

I have a feeling this storyline will work great. I mean, it should, since they did the *exact same thing* on Friends when Monica started dating Tom Selleck’s character.

I love Mulroney’s role in New Girl. Having him as her love interest made the show MUCH MORE FUN! I also thought the bit about ?? sitting in his seat and wearing his sweater was hilarious. Love the ‘fold not hang’ .
