  1. MEL31602 says:

Actually a pretty decent cast. Only about four I’ve never heard of, and I’m excited about Urkel and Gavin DeGraw. Also impressed they got Gladys Knight

  2. GS says:

Jack Wagner! Urkel! Laura ingalls! Gladys! Don’t know or care about the rest. These ate my faves straight off. I really hope Jack can dance. Love him.

  3. Dee says:

Kinda diggin’ on Urkel. Interesting to see Gladys Knight and what she’ll bring as well as Sherry Shepard and to a lesser degree Melissa Gilbert. The rest of them….. ehhh

  4. Lucia says:

I am going to give them a chance. Last season, hardly anybody knew who JR Martinez was and he turned out to be an amazing dancer and an inspirational person.

    • Angela says:

If you’re an “All My Children” viewer you know J.R. :).
So far nobody on this list that would be of definite interest to my mom or I, but we always say that each season the cast is made up of nobody we’re into and then wind up enjoying it anyway. So we’ll be watching-at the very least, this season’s cast should prove interesting.

    • Karen says:

      AMENNN TO THAT <3 :-)

    • Anna says:

I love the show yes there is afew of the cast I have never heard of but we will get to know all of them very well if you keep a positive mind. But where was the 2 who couldn’t be there on the GMA show were everyone was interaduced . I thought that was kinda strange myself I think if you can’t make it to this how are you going to be able to practice also be on the show but THAAT IS ONLY MY OPINION SORRY IF I STEP ON SOMEONE’S TOES ON THIS COMMENT.

  5. TV Gord says:

I don’t watch any reality shows, but I’m impressed that at least this time around there are some bona fide stars!

  6. Marta says:

I’m so very excited about Gavin…. But you list him as a country singer? No no no- R&B/rock. Quick fix please??

  7. Bradley says:

Gavin Degraw is not a country singer. He’s been a quite popular artist on Top 40 radio for quite awhile.
This cast is horrible. There’s no one here to bring me back each week.

    • sally says:

BS its a horrible cast …. donald driver is a complete sweetheart, that smile of his will win the crowd over and over every week and OMGGGGGGGG Gavin DeGraw?? who wouldnt want to watch him dancing around on the ballroom floor … Im gonna have a hard time deciding who to vote for each week… CANT WAITTTTTTTTTTTTT TILL MARCH 14th …

  8. Lisa says:

Gavin DeGraw is *not* a country singer. I’m most excited about Jack Wagner. I’m not really crazy about a few of the people I’ve never heard of (the Opera Singer and the Telenova person).

  9. Samantha says:

Gavin is not country, but the cast is definitely not as bad as I was expecting to see.

  10. Millbarge says:

The definition of the word “stars” is getting continually more murky.

  11. Carmichael says:

No Julianne Hough, no Lacey Schimmer, no me. Also, who or what is a Gavin Degraw?

    • sally says:

LMAOOOOOOOO if u dont know who gavin degraw is ur out of touch with the real world ….

    • semisweet says:

either you know his songs and don’t realize it or you don’t listen to music – he is a singer songwriter who unlike so many “music stars” today is actually talented!

  12. la says:

It løoks like i will be watching. William Levy is muy caliente! And he is cuban so he could b a good dancer!

  13. Ega says:

Is it Katherine Jenkins as in the Welsh singer? It’s weird to see her on DTWS instead of Strictly Come Dancing. I don’t think she’s that well known in the US but I guess Len and Bruno will love her.

  14. Rach says:

Katherine Jenkins the Welsh Katherine Jenkins?

  15. Renee says:

Wow Martina Navratilova. They actually did get some stars this time.

  16. Annabelle says:

Maybe a few good ones, but not enough to keep me or much of the country tuning in each week!!! Too bad Regis can’t dance (hip issues) what about Anderson Cooper, NPH, Matt LeBlanc, Kelly Ripa, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate…are they even trying to get celebrities that are more interesting? What about Joe Montana or Joe Marino, John Elway – let’s get some QB’s in the mix!!!
IF I watch at all I’ll root for Jaleel White. Ugh, bring back Battle of the Network Stars please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Frankie says:

Unfortunately, DWTS has a reputation for reviving the careers of has beens and B or C list stars. Most of the people you listed have good careers and don’t need the boost of DWTS. It would be a better show if the stars were more current, but oh well.

      • Sickofthis says:

UGH – so what if they have good careers now…they won’t later in life, look at Matt LeBlanc he was on Friends then nothing for years! It’s a cycle, and for the fans I think they should at least consider doing this show – we like it when people are real like us and whatever.
Sorry DWTS not tuning in for this lot; better luck next time! Think of asking some of your ABC Family starts for the next cycle and I’m in!!!

    • Annie says:

YES….Battle of the Network Stars was awesome!!!!! The younger crowd has no idea what it is I bet :) LOVED THAT SHOW

    • tina says:

OMG – yes, Battle of the Networks Stars was such fun, it’s been long enough that people my age would watch again just for the nostalgia and it would be like a Celebrity Wipeout edition.
CAMPAIGN to bring back Battle of the Newtork Stars is beginning!!!! Let’s do it :)

    • Emily says:

HAH. NPH on DWTS, in your dreams. He has better things to do. None of the celebs you’ve listed have time for this show.

    • Semisweet says:

they tried to bring it back – epic fail! Todays “stars” really can’t laugh at themselves or most are self important reality celebutantes.
The list you suggest might intrigue you but each of us has our own appeals – only Matt and Christina would hold any form me on that list. I think this year isn’t too bad…the little boy may have dance experience but hip hop won’t help you do a Fox Trot :) If you love dance. . . . you’ll watch, we always do.

  17. tina says:

I wouldn’t say Gavin was rock either. More alternative or pop. He sings the song Not Over You, that’s on the radio right now. Seems like dancing with the stars wouldn’t be his cup of tea. I wasn’t interested until I saw Jaleel. Kind of want to see Steve Urkell on the dance floor! And Gladys and Gavin, but that’s about it.

  18. Liz says:

I’d like to know what dirt does Derek have on the producers that he always gets partnered with the prettiest person cast. I am happy that they didn’t cast anyone that really annoys me and gets under my skin like they have in past seasons. As of right now, Go Urkel! I also hope Gavin Degraw will be good, I love his music.

    • MDEP says:

I always felt he was paired with natural performers, people who have danced before in their careers-Jennifer Gray, Ricki Lake, Nicole the Pussy Cat Doll. I wonder if Maria has danced before?

  19. Bobby says:

I’d like to see some more younger kids in there…the early 20’s crowd. I’d tune in to see Selena Gomez or Dylan/Cole Sprouse, America Ferrera, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley!!!

  20. Cindy says:

I think William Levy is a telenovela actor, not a telenova actor.

  21. jacob says:

Go Jaleel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he was great in Big Fat Liar

  22. haley says:

Not going to watch this one, unless it gets down to the final 5 or so and this is who is left: Jaleel, Sherri, William, Martina, and Gavin.
Sorry Melissa, Katherine, Jack & Maria have no desire to watch you dance. Sick of the eye candy, the only men watching this show religiously (I mean they don’t miss a second, let alone an episode) aren’t watching the women.
Where is an older cast member? I love the older crowd, they are too cute and fun to watch. Adios DWTS not happening for me.

    • Liz says:

Does Gladys Knight not count as older to you?

    • Kendal says:

If you’re choosing not to watch because you don’t like the chosen stars then you’ve been watching for the wrong reasons for the past 13 seasons.

    • Alexa says:

Gladys Knight is 67, Martina Navratilova is 57, Jack Wagner is 50, Melissa Gilbert is 47 – maybe you mean someone realllly old and “cute” like Cloris Leachman, but the AARP crowd (of which I am a member) is well represented in this grouping…

    • G says:

Way to speak for all man-kind there haley. I can tell you that I watch for the female dancers and I never miss a show. I don’t care if the celebs are eye candy though, that is what the pros are for. Besides it is not all about looks (that is just where it starts for a lot of people). The stories of the people are often an even better reason to stick around. J.R. had an amazing story and it turned out he could dang really well too. I’m okay with older cast members to, but they should at least be healthy and still able to move. If they end up being able to dance it doesn’t matter whether they are young, old, female, or male as I will vote for them.

  23. Elle says:

The only thing that bothers me is when they get people with a clear dancing background. I babysit, and I’ve seen quite a few episodes of Shake It Up – it’s a show about kids who are on a DANCE SHOW. Last year with Ricki Lake was almost acceptable since it’d been a while since she used her dance background, but dancing is probably what Roshon Fegan does with most of his life right now. Not that he knows how to samba, of course, but I think the unfair advantage is still there.

  24. Tiva4Life says:

    William Levy O_O

  25. Sam says:

I know William Levy from watching The Soup. And he’s hot. So I’m rooting for him.

  26. Trista says:

I’m pretty impressed with the cast. I’m looking forward to seeing Jack and Melissa dance. Also, Jaleel and Gavin could be fun.
Seeing jack Wagner on this list makes me think – how fun would it be to see Tony Geary and Genie Francis on the same season?

    • Marilyn Slabach says:

Yes I would like to see them also on DWTS.
I am glad to see Jack, Melissa, Jaleel, Sherry, and Glagys on this season. I am not as familiar with some of the other ones. Good Luck to them all.
I am sure that Jaleel will have some moves.

  27. Dave says:

Get a recent pic of Sheri Shepherd! She isn’t that big anymore, it looks like a pic from 2007!

  28. Talia says:

One of the worst casts ever. They must be running out of “stars”.

    • Brenda says:

Idiot. Worst cast. You must have not seen some before. This one really has STARS IN IT.

    • Karen says:

I guess you don’t own a TV … finally most of them are Real Stars that we grew up with, not a bunch of unknown want to be’s who’s parent was the star or they needed to prove to everyone that they could look like a very overweight man ewwww

  29. JD says:

Another year where the title of the show is a direct lie. Where are the “Stars”?
    Maybe Gavin?
Unreal how this show is on the air.

  30. Eric Payne says:

Why is Martina Navratilova’s dance partner male? She came out of the closet decades ago. Can the producers not find a female “professional partner” to dance with her?

    • r0ckmypants says:

Ummmm for the same reason Carson Kressley’s partner was female? Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean they can’t dance with the opposite sex… it’s not like they’re sleeping together, they’re dancing, for crying out loud.

    • Karen says:

Because she is not trying to become a man, she is a proud woman who is gay, that’s all…….dumb comment Eric

  31. Sue says:

I’m actually pretty excited about this cast. Gladys Knight and Half Pint, now that is awesome.

    • Karen says:

So nice to see some good old talent, stars. I still watch Little House on the Prairie & Gladys has always been one classy lady, she has alot of Pips rooting for her

  32. apor says:

Levy has been Televisa’s and Univision top telenovela actor the last three years, so his inclusion means ABC is trying to reach the Hispanic Market.

  33. Amy says:

I’m just happy to see Maks will be back! The rest of the cast is not impressive.

  34. l says:

Katherine Jenkins? the Katherine Jenkins who has worked with David Foster?

  35. R says:

they’re really stretching this “star” title, aren’t they? I haven’t heard of half these people!!

  36. Gaby says:

William Levy’s hotness is reason enough to watch this show!!!

  37. julia says:

    what the hell??!?
william levy on DWTS? that is so weird.

  38. G says:

    Can’t wait!
I’m looking forward to Jaleel White, Katherine Jenkins, Donald Driver, and Martina Navratilova.
I’m sure there will be several more that will surprise me too!
I really wish Julieann would return and will miss Anna T. and Lacy not having partners too. Hope they will at least be there for the pro dances on elimination night.

    • Cinders says:

Julianne is too busy making movies, so we won’t see her back, unless she is a guest star. Anna Trebunskaya is in this season, so you will see her. She is paired with Jack Wagner. Lacey, unfortunately, is not, so you will probably see her in the pro dances.

      • G says:

Thanks for the clarification, several sights had mistakenly listed Anna Demidova (sp?) instead of the fabulous Anna Trebunskaya. I like both, but I’m still rooting for Anna T. to win her first mirrorball.

  39. Isabelle says:

I screamed when I saw William Levy’s name! OMG I love him and he’s Latin baby I’m sure he got moves. I cant wait!! I’m also so glad Derek got Maria, he might win his forth this year or maybe Cheryl will be winning her 3rd. This cast looks amazing, no one I cringed to see.
And Katherine Jenkins, she sung on DWTS two seasons ago for classical week, amazing voice.

  40. Meh says:

    No Lacy? That’s a bummer! :(

  41. Iván says:

Has anyone noticed that there are NO REALITY STARS??
    WTG, producers!

  42. Alex says:

If ABC was trying to get more Hispanic viewers with the inclusion of Levy… you got us… my mother wants to watch the show now and she speaks little english.. I tried to stay away from DWTS for years…. good move ABC… good move.

  43. Alex says:

Katherine Jenkins is a huge star in the UK and one of our biggest selling classical artists. Im sure she is doing this to raise her US profile but by no means does she need to.
She has an amazing voice even though her music does not appeal to me will be interesting to see how she dances

  44. Lucia says:

I wouldn’t count out William Levy, if you take into consideration Cheryl Burke’s success with very hot, foreign men. She took Cristian de la Fuente to third place, Gilles Marini to second place and nobody knew who they were before they came on to this show. Fresh from her success of taking Rob Kardashian to second place last season, she will work hard for a third mirrorball trophy to match the two she already has.

  45. Jen says:

    I just happy Tristan’s back!

  46. Sue says:

I have to say I am really excited about this cast. I am in shock they got Gladys Knight and Melissa “Half Pint” Gilbert. Sorry, I had to go there. Maria, Urkel, Sherry and Jack Wagner(Wow). Looking forward to watching this season. Way to go casting people at Dancing with the Stars.

  47. Ronda says:

Only one person has mentioned Donald Driver. I’m betting he will be a force to reckon with-if only because Packer Nation will be rooting him on. He is one of the nicest people to meet him in person, and I can’t wait to see him dance!

  48. Amber says:

Please, please, please tell me that is the same telenovela guy that The Soup always makes fun of that has the never ending meaningful glances. That’s the same guy, right?
So Louis isn’t on this season? I don’t think I saw him. Or am I blind? Disappointing to not have him around two seasons in a row, he’s one of my favorites.

  49. Amber says:

This is better than last year’s cast. I am looking forward to seeing Donald Driver and Jaleel White. I’m surprised they got Gavin Degraw. He’s a real musical star. I mean he’s no Daughtrey, but still…
