Pilot Castings: Robert Knepper Joins Cult, Marc Cherry Adds Two Devious Maids and More

Get More: Casting News, Pilots

Former Prison Break baddie Robert Knepper has joined The CW’s Cult.

Also among the latest rush of pilot castings: Without a Trace vet Roselyn Sanchez, onetime Scrubs nurse Judy Reyes and SNL alum Rachel Dratch.

Knepper (who most recently appeared on Heroes and Stargate Universe) will play both naughty and nice on Cult as Roger Reeves, an actor who portrays a charismatic cult leader in the series’ show-within-a-show, Deadline reports.

As previously announced, Melrose Place’s Jessica Lucas plays as a production assistant working with a blogger to investigate the show’s rabid fans, who might be recreating the crimes from their program.  Alona Tal (Supernatural) also co-stars.

The project comes from Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and writer Rockne O’Bannon (V, Farscape).

In other pilot news per our sister site Deadline:

Both Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs) are set to join Ana Ortiz and Dania Ramirez on Marc Cherry’s new ABC sudser Devious Maids, which follows four women working for the rich and powerful in Beverly Hills. Sanchez will play an aspiring singer who does housework for a famous pop star, while Reyes is a senior maid who works alongside her teen daughter.

If Mira Sorvino signs up for Jerry Bruckheimer’s Trooper, she’s already got a co-star in Jay Hernandez (Six Degrees), who has joined the CBS drama pilot as her New York State Trooper partner.

• Cougar Town alumna Collette Wolfe has nabbed the lead in Next Caller Please, NBC’s comedy pilot about on a Colorado radio host who scores a dream gig with a New York-based satellite radio station. Alas, her excitement is dashed when she meets her abrasive, hard-drinking and sexist new co-host.

Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live) and Danny Comden (Urban Legend) have joined the cast of the NBC comedy pilot Lady Friends, TVGuide.com reports. The potential series features two friends, Nicole (Andrea Anders) and Jen, who have very different lives but can’t live without each other. Dratch is their newest pal, while Comden will play Jen’s ex-husband.

  • Roselyn Sanchez is a terrible actress. She ruined Without A Trace. Why doesn’t she just quit acting?
