TVLine Items: TBS Orders (Much) More Conan, New Girl Nabs Big Love Sister-Wife and More!

Showing a lot of faith in its resident ginger, TBS has extended Conan O’Brien‘s late-night hit, Conan, through April 2014.

“I am excited to continue my run with TBS because they have been fantastic partners,” O’Brien said in a statement Wednesday. “This means I’ll be taping episodes of Conan well into the Ron Paul presidency.”

Conan debuted in November 2010, nearly a year after O’Brien’s controversial ouster from NBC’s Tonight Show.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Jeanne Tripplehorn is leaving the drama behind with a multi-episode arc on Fox’s hit comedy New Girl. Per, the Big Love alumna will play the manipulative ex-wife of upcoming guest star Dermont Mulroney, who, as we first reported, will soon join the freshman series as a handsome new love interest for Jess.

• Pop singer Katy Perry will appear in the March 6 installment of Raising Hope, playing a prison attendant who claims to be Sabrina’s close friend.

• Juliet Landau (who played Buffy’s Drusilla) and Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger) will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds, reports, respectively playing the ghost of a once-psychotic actress and a detective helping with a murder investigation.

• X Factor finalist Rachel Crow has signed an overall talent deal with Nickelodeon, with the cabler developing a comedy series for the 14-year-old to star in, Deadline reports.

• Perfect Couples‘ Christine Woods will play an ambitious reporter in an episode of Castle, which is slated to air in March, reports.

• Ready for the cutest thing you’ll see all day? Landon Pigg (a talented singer/songwriter and the boyfriend of star Mae Whitman) teamed with the entire cast of Parenthood (Michael B. Jordan included!) on a cover of LFO’s ’90s pop anthem “Girl on TV,” and the result (courtesy of Teen Vogue) is a must, must see music video. (Watch it below!)

Parenthood cast rule!! You can see they had so much fun filming this:)I hope Parenthood is renewed for another season. I would miss the cast a lot.

  2. Sharada says:

Is it possible to love Parenthood anymore than I already do? This video was amahzing

  3. jess says:

OMG this video is amazing!!!! Even without the major production value, this is up there with that NBC superbowl video (also featuring some of the parenthood cast)! Serious NBC needs to renew this show just for this alone!!!

  4. Martin says:

Only thing i didn’t like was you only saw Lauren Graham for like 2 seconds.

  5. kevin says:

Happy to see Conan stay on TBS until the next two years if it wasn’t the way it happen when Lopez Tonight got canceled back in August.

    • kevin says:

My grammar is bad. Meant to type in the following: Happy to see Conan stay on TBS for the next two years if it weren’t for Lopez Tonight when it got canceled back in August.

  6. Karen says:

So glad that Conan will continue for at least two more years. O’Brien belongs on a TV screen, which incidentally is not the case for another late-night host called Jay Leno….
Fallon, Ferguson, Letterman, Kimmel, hell even Handler, are all superior to Leno regarding late night. If you didn’t get it, I’m still mad at NBC for what they did to Conan…
Thanks TBS for more Conan (and Andy, for that matter)

  7. Amanda says:

Are you guys ever gonna get iPad compatible with your videos?

  8. Mark says:

So sad about Rachel Crow :( I really wanted to see her on a Disney Channel show. DC shows are so much classier than the dreck that Nickelodeon churns out. Sad :(

    • Edward says:

Um it depends on what show you’re talking about because Nickelodeon has good shows too like ICarly and they also launched some great careers like Amanda Bynes and Kennan Thompson so the network could be great for Rachel depending on the quality of her show.

      • Mark says:

I watched iCarly. It’s so bad. That friend Sam is brutal. BRUTAL. Drake & Josh, awful. Victorious, AWFUL. The only semi tolerable show that I’ve seen on that channel is True Jackson VP and that’s just cause Palmer is very likable. Old Nickelodeon is fine though. I have no problem with Kenan & Kel, Amanda Show, Clarissa Explains It All etc.

  9. Kathrin says:

Yay, awesome Parenthood cast! LOVE it.

  10. oppidum says:

    parenthood the best show ever.

  11. Alienate says:

Parenthood video: sappy and boring. UGH!
