SNL Books Maya Rudolph for Hosting Debut

Saturday Night Live vet Maya Rudolph is returning to the late-night staple later this month, but this time as host

The Up All Night star has been tapped to headline the show’s Feb. 18 installment alongside musical guest Sleigh Bells.

SNL: Jonah Hill to Host – and Justin Bieber, Too?

Rudolph has maintained a semi-regular presence on SNL since her official departure in 2007, mostly appearing in episodes hosted by her former co-stars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell.

      • poor writing is i think why they’ve been bringing back a lot of alums (alec baldwin, tina fey, amy poehler, jimmy fallon, etc). poor writing during rookie hosted nights is obvious, but to hide bad writing under alums… it just seems like a trick to keep the ratings out of the gutter.

        • Alec Baldwin was never a cast member. He’s not an SNL alumni. Same goes with Steve Martin.

  • This is beyoooooond amazing!!!! OMG, she’s one of my fave SNL cast members of all time!!!!! What makes it even more special is that this will most likely be Kristen Wiig’s last year on SNL, great to see Maya will host for the first time while Wiig is still a cast member. Those two together are absolute gold!!! Ahhhh!!!! I’m actually sooooo excited!!!
