The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Thursday

On TV this first day of February sweeps: Madonna gives Idol her “Luvin,” the Parks and Rec gang celebrates (an unconventional) Valentine’s Day, The Mentalist investigates a killer with style, an MTV guy gets Pants‘d and more. As but a supplement to TVLine’s original features, here are 11 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm American Idol (Fox) | Madonna will world premiere the video for her new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Plus, auditions from St. Louis, Mo.

8 pm The Vampire Diaries (The CW) | In the quest to kill Klaus, Stefan turns to Bonnie and Abby, while Damon reaches out to an old acquaintance to help set up an elaborate plan; Klaus hosts a strange dinner party that is crashed by an unexpected guest. (Not again, Tyler!)

8 pm The Big Bang Theory (CBS) | Sheldon’s selfish demands force Leonard to reconsider their friendship; Wolowitz tries to pick his astronaut nickname. NASA astronaut Mike Massimino guest-stars as himself.

8:30 pm Parks and Recreation (NBC) | It’s Valentine’s Day and Leslie decides she needs to find Ann a new man; Ben enlists Ron’s help when he is stumped by Leslie’s elaborate scavenger hunt; Chris is literally depressed about his love life.

9 pm Person of Interest (CBS) | Reese and Finch’s call upon a former POI for help with their latest case — the resourceful and well-connected Zoe (played by Paige Turco).

9 pm The Finder (FOX) | When Isabel’s new boyfriend (House of Payne‘s Lance Gross), an all-star baseball athlete, gets robbed, Walter helps find his stolen collectibles — but discovers much more.

9 pm The Office (NBC) | After Jim returns from jury duty, Dwight questions him on every detail of his case;  Angela and the senator (guest star Jack Coleman) welcome their new baby.

9:30 pm Up All Night (NBC) | When Chris’s older brother (guest star Dean Winters, 30 Rock) comes to visit, the two revert to their old competitive childhood ways; Reagan and Ava run a charity auction to help Amy get a spot in a coveted preschool.

10 pm The Mentalist (CBS) | Jane and the CBI narrow down the list of suspects when a clothing designer on the verge of a comeback becomes a  victim of more than fashion; FBI Agent Darcy (Catherine Dent) continues her investigation into Red John.

10 pm Private Practice (ABC) | Erica and Mason are involved in a nonfatal car accident that forces Cooper and Charlotte to further come to grips with their future; Violet and Pete struggle to navigate life-after-marriage when he finds her kissing paramedic Scott (played by Stephen Amell aka The CW’s prospective new Green Arrow).

11 pm I Just Want My Pants Back (MTV) | Series premiere: Jason, the ultimate slacker, is not the motivated type. But when a one-night stand steals his heart and his pants, he embarks on a quest to get his beloved jeans back — and hopefully the girl.

    The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle! So excited to see Elijah back on TVD and to see the aftermath of The Secret Circle’s previous episode now that we know the truth about the fire that happened 16 years ago and knowing that Cassie’s father is alive! CW’s two week break they had makes me want to see them both even more tonight!!
