Is The Secret Circle‘s new magic man bad news? In Faye’s eternal quest to get her individual powers back, she’ll turn to Lee for help in this Thursday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c). Below, TVLine chats with Damon about his character’s intentions, plus the possibility of romantic sparks flying between Lee and Faye.

Secret Circle Boss Previews Cassie’s Dark Side, Ethan’s Awakening and Jake’s Return

TVLINE | What is Lee up to in this week’s episode, “Fire/Ice”?
Lots of mischief. This episode is definitely going to make you question whether or not he’s a good guy or a bad guy. But he’s definitely dangerous. You’ll see that.

TVLINE | How would you describe Lee?
Shady, unpredictable and intriguing. With what he pulled, trying to con the girls, he’s definitely got some tricks up his sleeve.

TVLINE | So he’s not to be trusted?
I wouldn’t trust him in real life. But I think that’s for viewers to decide as the episodes go on.

TVLINE | [Executive producer] Andrew Miller has described Lee as very dangerous. What makes him such a threat?
Knowledge. He’s very knowledgable in magic, which is very cool because a lot of the characters are dangerous in that they don’t know what they’re doing with their powers. They make mistakes. What’s interesting about Lee is not only is he aware of the dark arts, but he’s knowledgable [in them].

TVLINE | Will he use that knowledge against the circle?
He’s definitely going to use it for him. To his advantage.

TVLINE | Why help Faye? What’s in it for him?
Of course, he’s talking to a beautiful girl, getting to know her. He’s definitely cut off a little bit from the world. It’s not suggested or anything, but I think he’s dealing with his own stuff, and we’ll find out later what that is. But also, he is tasting real magic for the first time. He wants to really explore that.

TVLINE | Will there also be romantic sparks between him and Faye?
I think at least for one of them.

TVLINE | So it’s pretty one-sided?
No, not necessarily. Definitely one of them is a little more into the other. They’re not sure what they might feel for each other. [But] there’s a definite attraction.

TVLINE | Is he using Faye at all?
He might be using Faye for Faye.

TVLINE | Will you be showing off any powers of your own?
Yes, but not in the way you would think.

  • He’s so so so hot. I wasn’t really listening to a word he said in the last episode.
    Because he’s so hot!

  • TY for the scoop, but I don’t really like interviews like this. It’s obviously he couldn’t tell us anything, so it really wasn’t worth reading.
I really hope they keep him around to broaden the scope of the show.. we need more fringe characters to deepen the stories of the main characters. It can’t all be about the magic, which it kind of is right now. It would find it’s stride more if this happens, I think.

  • Faye is going to be pretty dumb…hmm…lets go tell this guy all about our witch coven, even though we know there are witch hunters and other elder witches after our power

i don’t think he is so hot. but he did look better on SC than he did on “Chloe King”. i actually think his vanilla appearence on that show hurt the series, the other love interest was just so much hotter, how were tween girl supposed to relate?

  • I have to admit he isn’t bad to look at but I really don’t want him with Faye. Faye needs to be with Diana!
