The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Friday

On TV this Friday: The Gifted doctor is in, SNL‘s Andy Samberg visits Portlandia, Red Riding Hood wields razor-sharp fangs on Supernatural, and Blue Bloods‘ Erin is wracked with guilt and more. Here are nine programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm Chuck (NBC) | While Chuck and Sarah contemplate the next step for Carmichael Industries, Casey’s forbidden love, Gertrude Verbanski (returning guest star Carrie-Anne Moss), walks back into his life with a questionable mission in… South Beach?

8 pm A Gifted Man (CBS) | While tending to patients at the clinic during a blizzard, Michael shows signs of a severe condition that requires immediate surgery.

8 pm Nikita (The CW) | Alex’s mission to take down Gogol comes to a head as she infiltrates her childhood home and faces ghosts from her past; then, on a completely separate mission, Nikita ends up at the same mansion to steal Semak’s black box. (Get a video sneak peek!)

Hot for Winter: Your January Premieres, Returns and Finales Calendar

9 pm CSI: NY (CBS) | A charred body turns into a hot mess for the CSI team when it appears a cage fighter has been murdered by his stalker. Travis Schuldt (Scrubs) guest-stars.

9 pm Supernatural (The CW) | Still reeling after what happened to Bobby, Dean becomes dangerously obsessed over finding a way to take down Dick Roman. While searching for a girl’s missing father, Sam traces his last steps to a truck stop where “the help” (Meghan Ory, Once Upon a Time) turns out not to be so helpful. (Take a peek at first look photos here.)

2012 Renewal Scorecard: What’s Coming Back? What’s Getting Axed? What’s on the Bubble?

10 pm Merlin (Syfy) | Season 4 premiere: Merlin faces his toughest challenge yet when Morgana’s determination threatens not only Arthur’s future, but the very balance of the world. With her magic stronger than ever, the sorceress summons the mighty Callieach to tear open the veil between the worlds. Hellish creatures pour forth, killing any who succumb to their touch.

10 pm Blue Bloods (CBS) | When Erin’s informant is murdered, she blames herself and works to help Danny discover who killed him. If the promos are any indication, this one’s going to be some heavy stuff.

10 pm Portlandia (IFC) | Season 2 premiere: Fred helps Carrie chase a romantic mixologist (Saturday Night Live‘s Andy Samberg) who forgets his roots when he moves from Portland to L.A.

10:30 pm The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret (IFC) | Season 2 premiere: When Todd has a lot of explaining to do — What was he doing in the House of Parliament? Why is there a blood-stained cardboard box on his floor that says ALICE RAPE KIT? — trying to talk his way out of trouble only makes matters worse.
